I have read so many BS religious tales that I had almost forgotten this one, and I haven't taken the time to really check it out!
But if I remember the fable at all, it goes something like this:-
Joseph had a dream in which he was informed that a message awaited him from God, this message was to be found in a certain spot(I think it was under some tree)?
He was told to read the message and pass it on to all people, it was written on golden tablets, he was warned that he must never show these tablets to any one or they would be made to disappear!
He retrieved the tablets from the place he was directed to , he read the message as directed, he was so excited about the whole event that he needed to inform some one, I think it was his brother)? He showed his brother the tablets as proof that he was telling the truth!!!
Sure enough as warned the tablets were made to disappear!!
However he some how had managed to remember all the details written on the tablets, hence the Mormon bible as it is today!!!
I may have got quite a few of these 'facts' wrong, but the gist is not far off!!
And it is all just as believable as the Old Testament, and even more believable than the New Testament!!
Hope this helps in your search for the truth??
It didnt really take me long to discover that all religion is a complete load of BS! And should be bannedcfrom the face of the earth!

They never existed. If you read the testimonies of the people were the 3 and 8 witnesses, you will see that they never saw them. Given the size that they were reported to be, they would not be as light as it was reported.
The language of "Reformed Egyptian" never existed and for it to be spoken by Jews is an equally embarrassing problem.
If you want a good read, have a look at "The curiosities of American Literature" by Disraeli in the 1790 edition, he lists off some 35 people who found bibles buried in the ground by that time and he reports that it is growing wearisome to see this.
The ultimate answer to the Mormon claims is a James MacPherson. His Ossian Chronicles was also found when he was 16 and it was famous in the 1700's.

Joseph Smith never translated any gold plates.
He used divination, an occult practice, to write the Book of Mormon:
he dropped a magical seer stone into his hat, then buried his face in the hat and proceeded to dictate the Book of Mormon. Joseph claimed to see in the darkened hat the words he dictated.
Joseph Smith did not translate the Book of Abraham by the power of God as he had claimed. When Joseph first gave his translation of the Egyptian papyri, hieroglyphics were undecipherable. Today they are fairly easy to decipher. He was safe in saying anything he wanted to and there would be no way of proving him wrong. But with the resurfacing of the same papyri he used to do his Book of Abraham translation, and the fact that he did not in any way do it correctly, should be proof enough that Joseph Smith lied about his abilities from God.
In 1843 six brass plates were found in a mound in Kinderhook, Illinois. Mormons who saw the plates were impressed by their ancient appearance and felt that they would prove Joseph Smith's Book of Mormon
Unfortunately for the Mormon position, it was later revealed that the plates were forgeries.
We know for a certainty that the partial translation of the Kinderhook plates was obviously not a divinely inspired translation.
It follows that if he did not translate the Book of Abraham by the power of God, and he did not translate the Kinderhook plates by the power of God, then it would be very easy to conclude that he did not translate the Book of Mormon by the power of God either. Obviously Joseph Smith had a vivid imagination and was perfectly capable of simply making up "translations" of real and imagined ancient texts.
Joseph's false "translation" of the Kinderhook plates + Joseph's false "translation" of the Egyptian papyri = a false prophet.

Yes, and if you read the Book of Mormon, you will get a lot of answers. It is a very interesting story of history.
When according to arrangements, the messenger of God called for the plates and Joseph Smith delivered them up to him; and the messenger has them in his charge until this day.

God has them. Since Joseph Smith wasnt supposed to show them to anyone but let that guy take them home, the book of mormon lost 160 pages. I dont know. It's all bullshit. Dont be Mormon. It gets way too confusing and there are waaaayy too many reasons not to believe in what they teach. I mean like, you cant drink caffinated drinks, but you can eat chocolate...chocolate has caffine in it too..

Joe gave them to the angel Maroni who flew off to heaven with the load of gold. Gold is really heavy and scientists can look into space covering thousands of light years. So if Maroni could fly at a thousand miles per hour, it will take him a few billion years more to get there.
A light second - -180,000 miles. A light minute- - 180,000 times 60. A light hour, last figure times 60. A light day, last figure times 24. A light year, last figure times 365. That's just one light year.
