You just left the grocery store and you are in such a rush to get home that you forgot to buckle your baby's car seat. By the time you notice you are about a block away from home. Do you,
A) Keep driving, you'll be home in a minute and she'll be fine, or
B) Pull over and buckle her in- most accidents happen within a mile of home!
Why?

Just so you know this isn't a real scenerio, but when I was coming home from the store yesterday I quickly looked in the back seat and thought I forgot to buckle her, but of course I had remembered, but this question popped into my head!

Pull over and buckle her in!!! Like you said, most accidents happen close to home. I could not live with myself if we were in an accident and I KNEW she wasn't buckled in. I can't imagine any parent being in such a hurry that they wouldn't remember to buckle their child in. But, hey, parents get frazzled some times- I should know, I can be very scatter brained at times!!

well as a firefighter that has seen allot of strange things happen and a father of a 5yr old, I would stop and buckle the car seat, I have personally seen kids thrown out of cars (still in the car seat) car seats unlike adult seat belts, DO SAVE LIVES, I have never seen or heard of a kid dieing because of a car seat being buckled.

Well I have pulled over and buckled my Precious Angels up because they found a way to let themselves out at times. I always think anything could happen between here or there even when your parked. My Nubian Angels mean everything to me and I have sacrificed everything for them. My wonderful job is to protect them from everything until their dependent enough to make their own decisions.

Pull over and buckle her in, why take the chance of anything happening, no matter how close you are to your home.

Pull over and buckle her up, unless by doing so you would be in more danger. Why? Because he/she's your baby! And because once you let it slip, it becomes easier to "forget" again and again. Plus, like you said, close to home is where accidents happan.

Scary isn't it. But I give you a pat on the back for doing it and another for just thinking about it, but even being a block from home pull over and do it.
