Hi, I'm considering going on a trip cross-country (New York to Phoenix), and I need to know what're some foods I can bring with me that won't spoil along the way?

Canned or dehydrated foods.

I havce a friend who goes on 3-week long hikes in the mountains, and she brings lots of dehydrated stuff. I think it's available from a sporting goods store like REI (if you have something like that near you).

If you're gonna be in your car, you can bring canned or packaged goods (crackers, etc.) that don't require refrigeration.

Hey, are you going back packing or is it a road trip with a 5th wheel (caravan)??
I'll assume you're travelling light in which case I'd advise de-hydrated noodles, vegetables & soya chunks. You can mix it up in a bowl (dry) before you go & pack it into small portions in ziplock bags. Tha's what I do when I go camping /mountain climbing. As others have suggested, jerky & dried fruits along with dried milk powder & instant oatmeal. All of these things can be eaten with the addition of water (hot or cold) Good luck & enjoy.
PS. Won't you be able to stop at gas stations/convenience stores aloing the way to buy snacks?

Trail mix (especially varieties without chocolate because the chocolate will melt in the car), peanut butter and crackers, peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches, packages of milk (there are packages that won't spoil - due to the way it is preserved), cereal, cheese whiz, snack foods like pretzels and chips, granola bars, juice, fruit, jerky.
Hope this helps!

Canned or dehydrated foods are a must, also oatmeal, granolas, dried beans, and rice. Oh yeah and peanut butter. That is all I can think of at the moment. Have fun on your trip.
