Sugar Ray Robinson is the greatest fighter of all time WAS AND IS AND WILL BE FOREVER.He had boxing stills and was 175-19-6 in 25 years of boxing,no one will ever match Ray Robinson's boxing skills.Roy Jones doesn't even belong in the same boxing ring with Sugar Ray Robinson.

Jones in his top could have been a tricky combat for all people, which incorporates Ray Robinson. Jones became into cat-like speedy and had sturdy means and protection. yet Robinson became into i think of the main suitable fighter in history and he might have discovered a thank you to conquer Roy. Robinson became right into a clever fighter besides as incredibly skillful and he might have nullified a number of Roy's velocity with velocity of his very own and Roy's chin could have been critically examined against Robinson's left hook. Sugar Ray wins this combat by utilising a previous due around ko or a unanimous determination.

To niwriffej - Using your logic, all of today's fighters are better than the previous ones.

Jones - W 50 (KO's 38) TF 54 - W pct 93% - KO pct 70% - wins over Hopkins, Toney, McCallum and V. Hill - KO'ed by Tarver and Glenn Johnson (average fighter) - #89 ranked puncher - #44 ranked fighter
Great defensive skills, unparalleled speed (all this hid a weak chin)
Held titles at 160, 168, 175 and Hwy wt

Robinson - W 173 (KO's 108) TF 200 - W pct 87% - KO pct 54% - wins over Zivic{2}, La Motta[4], Armsrtong, Gavlin{2}, Olso[3], Basilio{2} and Fullmer - KO'ed by Maxim (heat exhaustion) - #11 ranked puncher - #1 ranked fighter

At one time I had thought that Roy was the greatest thing since white bread/rice. In this fight, Robinson turns southpaw and KO's glass jaw Jones. Roy could not even carry Ray's jock strap. Even Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Jose Feliciano could see that this was a mis-match.

Sugar Ray Robinson is one the greatest of all time and fought tough competition throughout his great career. He had great sping, ring generalship, great footwork and was also very tough and durable. Jone is very fast but also has the habit of being a little bit of a showboat and when he lets his hands down against Robinson POW! he would get tagged every time. Though not an easy fight for Robinson he would win the decision.

i enjoyed watching old films of sugar ray robinson but i think robinson was a true welterweight and his move to middleweight many of his fights were after his prime, sugar ray lost to gene fullmer twice, carmen basillio, randy turpin and i have a hard time imaging any of those ever beating roy jones, diferent era`s but those guys were too crude to lay a glove on roy and had no trouble reaching an over-rated (by today`s standard) ray robinson, besides roy did his best fighting at light heavy, ray challenges for that crown and is stopped by heat and joey maxim.not a roy jones fan am a sugar ray robinson fan, ray robinson would have come out today and had the training and protection and easy set up fights and 2-3 fight a yr in his prime he would have been super but the wars he had to gut out his entire career took a tole and wore him down allowing the fulmers and the basilios to reach him.

Who ever pick Roy Jr. is on crack. Sugar Ray is argueably the greatest boxers to put gloves on.Roy has flare, I will give him that but Sugar Ray had the total package. Everything you would want in a boxer times 10. I pick Sugar Ray Robinson by K.O in the 4 round.

Robinson by a split decision. It wouldn't be easy for Robinson. He never had to deal with a guy like Jones who was bigger and I'd say a shade faster than Robinson. Robinson wins this one on his vast experience and ring generalship. But he doesn't win it by much.

Oh man that's a hard one. I say Roy Jones, just because he has access to modern training and nutrition.

Don't forget back in the day they didn't know about the benefits of a full range of motion in exercise as well as they understand it now.

Still, tough call.
