Take for instance, an adult guy looked alright (i don't know, maybe a 7 out of 10 for looks) and had a good sense of humor. Would that be better than a serious type of guy who looks great (probably a 9 out of 10 for looks)? I'm just curious. Is humor the most important trait?

Most of the women who've answered your question are being a little disingenuous. They fail to mention that what attracts them to a man in the first place is largely their looks.
They won't bother to get to know you well enough to find out if you have a good sense of humour, or are confident or sensitive or intelligent/successful/honest/ reliable/passionate/know lots of cool sex positions or whatever in the first place if they don't dig you. However if you work/study/hang together, that's when other characteristics start to figure.

Humour is not the most important trait in a man.
If our choices were limited to choosing a good looking man with no humour or one with not so good looks and great humour, then I'd be the first to say that humour is the most important.
However, living in a real world, one must admit that sometimes, humour is the last thing you need. For instance, humour can't ensure that your children are provided with their essentials and it may not provide much needed support when your back is against the wall.
Generally, when it comes to initial attraction to a man, a too strong sense of humour may very well turn me off, after all, I am not looking for a comedian. A serious (not gloomy) man who has a fair appreciation of the lighter side of life is definitely not too much to ask for.

I am a guy and I have a teriff sense of humor - as all you people need, so lighten up - and it should be the most important thing. You avoid all those problems young girls and women ask questions about here if the guy has a sense of humor. Also, a girl or woman without a sense of humor is going to have a life of nothing but drama and she will ask questions about "What can I do..."

I love a guy with a good sense of humor!! My husband has the best!!! But honesty is one thing i would look for... Honestly and a good sense of humor, because if you can find someone who can make you laugh, and not lie to you, that is a great catch!!! And although I said it is great, it isn't the most important.. different people are looking for different things.

A sense of humor is very important. I could be a with 10 and be absolutely miserable. But I had much rather be with someone that is more like myself. A good sense of humor is great!

Humor is a great trait to have, but I have come to find out that it is the way that you treat a woman that gets you the best results. Now this is the tricky part. Women loved to be spoiled, but the key to it is not to overdo it. Most of the time nice guys really do finish last. So what you do, is be yourself and treat her with respect, but don't always be available. Make her think that she isn't your only option and I promise you, you will move above that arrogant guy your competing against!! Good luck!!

well humor is a good part but sometimes a girl needs serious tooo. Humor is just part of the package. all woman look for different things in a man some look for the whole deal others settle with just funny or just serious.....ANYWAY THE BEST ANSWER FOR YOU IS BOTH. serious is imprtant in a fight or when a girl needs you in a hard time. Humor is good when she is down and needs a laugh or when you guys are just hangin out.

Yes. Humor is -- sometimes --- the most important
thing in a relationship. But if I go out for a so called
"one-nite-stand" humor doesn't count...

I guess the sense of humour is a bonus but not essential? It's cool to hang out with someone who can light up my day, make me smile, have a good laugh sometimes. It makes the date enjoyable.
However, I personally think its not essential. To each his own. But a good mix of humor and seriousness would be cool. The man needs to know when to be serious and when to crack a joke?
I am pretty cool with the both types of guys in your question.
