i'm taking prozac(20mg)
buspar(7mg)in the day time
alprazolam (1mg)at night for sleep
and
seroquel (50mg)at night for sleep
which one do u thinkis causing me tohave vivid dreams, they seem sooo real that sometimes i get confused. i ask my self was that a dream or was it real?
also sometimea i know that i'm dreaming but i can't wake my self up, other times i can control my dreams. To me this is scary, but my doctor said that it's normal, she said that i have been through too much and my brain is just rejuvenating or fixing it self or somthing like that.
If u have been on antidressants , has this ever happen to u? what med do u think is causing it?
thank u

How in the world did ONE doctor give you all that medicine??
It would be a reaction from one to another. Look it up at Medco.com or webmd.com for the side effects of each of the
meds.
You must really talk to your doctor. This is a question only for
for him/her.
good luck

I take Prozac and I was taking Zoloft and some other anxiety and depression medications...I too take a sleep aid at night...I am also having very vivid dreams and sometimes I enjoy my dreams more then reality...I believe in "astro" travel, and sometimes I think I have left my body...I also was taking Wellbutrin and I am not sure if this is caused from taking different medicines or not..I have gotten to the point that I look forward to sleeping just to see what my next adventure will be....This has been happening since 1999...I am glad you shared this, because I thought I was the only one who experienced this...Don't be scared and thanks....God bless you and take care!

the dreams that u are having are not caused by the medications. U my Friend have a gift, and u need to understand how to read it and cope with it. My vivid dreams come true(earth quake in California, and a tornado in Wisconsin). If u have a dream, as soon as u wake up, write it down. then if something happens during the day, u can read what u write, and see if u are right .Always put down the time u wake, the date, and have anyone as a witness to verify it, then sign it. u have a gift as i, if u like to chat, skyduggan2000@yagoo.com. The pills are not the cause. They are only opening up your inner mind.

You are on mind-altering drugs, that is what is causing it. Ask your doctor how long she intends to keep you on this treatment, and what she expects the outcome to be. It is healthy and necessary to dream, but if it getting too intense, you might need to back off on the dosage. Perhaps your increasing sensitivity is an indication that you are getting better.
Also if I was you, I would talk to another specialist and get a second opinion on the recommended course of treatment.
I think the best treatment for depression if a change in lifestyle and improved diet. The drug therapy is supposed to help you get there.. not a long-term solution.

More than likely it is the seroquel that's causing the vivid dreams. My son takes this drug....it's an antipsychotic. Have you a diagnosis that came with those meds? His dosage is 500 mg., much higher than what you're taking but he says he experiences exactly what you've described. You may have been through a lot and your mind may be rejuvenating but it's probably the seroquel. Hope you feel better!

I was almost murdered in my home and put on all different kinds of meds. Let me tell you dear, psychiarist just work for the pharmicutical companies and are looking for that money. Of course they tell you it is normal. if it is so normal than how come you weren't like this before the meds? Counseling is the best way to go because then you are dealing with your issues in a controlled envirinment and facing your problems rather than covering them up. Accupuncture is also very amazing to help with emotional havoc. Get off the meds cause they are only paying your doctors mortgage and blocking your chances of progress. Good luck sweetie!! p.s most meds increase symptoms of depression which can't be helpful.
