Get a pen and paper and go somewhere quiet! Relax and thinkof what you're supposed to write the essay on. Close your eyes and just let your mind start wondering and when it does begin to write down what you see, hear, feel, etc....etc........

If you are unmotivated or unfamiliar with the topic, it is difficult to write. Don't just sit there. If you are artistic draw prictures that come to your mind related to teh topic. There are all tupe of brainstorming techniques, such as webbing, etc. putting one word on the page, and then comping up with other related words, or examples. See brainstroming on the web if you get stuck. If you are motivated by the computer, start writing. It is easy to beceome fluent, then keep writing. Worry about editing later. It is a great way to brainstrom and write at the same time.

Stop brainstorming and clear your mind. Do something else for a while that relaxes you. Come back to brainstorming but keep calm and don't lose it if you can't think of anything. Take a walk. Look at photos, anything that will inspire you.

The best suggestion I can give you is two fold. First, know your material and read it thoroughly. Second, begin thinking of ideas right away. I've found that if I just casually think about it all the time I'm much more successful than if I try to take time out and pressure myself to come up with something. Just kind of have it in your thoughts and you'll find that great ideas will just pop into your head at the grocery store or something.
