It's because he got this threatening letter written to him from the Iranian president which indicated they had built an interplanetary ballistic missile:
"Dear Mr. President George Bush:
If you don't leave us alone I will launch my one-eyed rocket up Uranus!"
Sincerely, Mahmoud"

There is no rocket or any other vehicle on earth that can travel that distance in that amount of time. The speed needed to achieve that would be astronomical. If the Iranians had such technology, we would be speaking arabic and bowing to mecca before the day was through.

Why not praise the accomplishment and help them in their quest for technical advancement?! We can't even reach the moon in 45 minutes, I think if that were true, we have something we could learn from them and as long as they are our enemies, we as a ppl will never learn anything. As long as we try to keep others from bettering themselves then we are the oppressors, the terrorists.

Nothing, they haven't themselves shown to be a threat to us. Its only what we say makes them a threat. Okay they have missiles capable of reaching the moon. We have enough nukes to make Iran unlivable. Iran knows if the fire anything at us; they will see aside of the U.S they will never forget. Or to give a brighter idea they'll awake the beast that once destroyed Japan. So again don't worry.
