....we had two teams at school, chiselheads and footloose.
The chiselheads kept on headering the ball out of the park, and the footlooses kept on kicking the ball over the fence...
Eventually they all ended up boxing and wrestling, and the game was abandoned because the ref ran out of red cards..
so not an easy question to answer this...

American football- 22 players 11 on each side.Of course each team has a number of backups on each team as well as coaches,trainers,boosters etc. Hope this helps!

2 teams of 11 and at least one ref would be my guess. That discludes coaches who technically aren't necessary. That is also to say that all 11 of both teams play O, D, and special teams.
