I live in the south and no one makes a big deal of total grossness my friend even does it!I dont want to hurt him when i tell him to stop any suggestions?

Like most things, this is a violation of a social norm. In undeveloped countries for example it is encouraged to pick your nose and EAT THE CONTENTS. These undeveloped countries are lacking good health care and immunizations and eating the nose secretions can introduce some forms of bacteria and allow your body to gain active immunity. This is also why some microbiology professors allow their children to do it and guess what, these children get sick less frequently. As for adults, it is considered disgusting and should be avoided in public. However be understanding as sometimes blowing your nose doesn't clear the nasal passages as much as picking so that could be as well. Just politely say can't you do that in the bathroom, and laugh. He might get the hint without getting offended.

Try to tell him politely that "digging for gold" in front of you or anybody is rather offensive. You stated that no one in your area makes a big deal out of it, so maybe he just doesn't know otherwise. That's why you should say something to educate him. If he has any common sense, he will appreciate your honesty and candor.

I dont think its gross. Its better than someone having boogers hanging out of their nose! plus, its SOOO annoying to have a big one in there just buggin the crap outta ya. lol

Masturbation is actually good for sex life. So, will you do it in public. You do it in privacy - right?
Same with booger picks. Yes, keep your nose clean - it is also a good practice - but please.... do it privately.... like....while you are taking a dump in your washroom or something.
Whether you live in south or north, there are some common decency with socially accepted practices.

Maybe he should do it away from people so that they won't get disgusted..I usually do that but I don't eat the contents..this is disgusting...but hey it's human nature..

yes...but my health teacher said it was health to eat them...but its still really gross!!!
