to cat lovers?

I think people who are agressive and want to seem "tough" think that dogs are tougher than cats or something and so they militantly like dogs more than cats. I happen to love both equally and don't know why people are like that. In the end, they're all cute and cuddly, right?

I am a dog lover and basically do not have any affection for cats, HOWEVER, I have never hated cats and would never want anything harmful to happen to any type of animal. I think that perhaps your own demeanor about talking about cats vs dogs, may bring out the worst in another person who may not feel quite as strongly as you suggest. Think about what you are saying the next time you speak to a dog lover. You may be the catalyst in the bad feelings you perceive that you are getting from the other person.

I love both cats and dogs but the personalities of cats and dogs are pretty different. The way they intereact with humans, their needs and personality are opposite in alot of ways. There are traits that animal lovers enjoy in one species like dog lovers might enjoy the fact that dogs require lots of interaction and need praise from us where cats don't seem to require that and are selective about when they want affection.

Plus there are some people thjat are just aggressive.

I think the kind of person you're dealing with has anger problems. They just project their anger and attach it to the animalistic tendencies of the dog. They fail to realize that the cat is actually closer to a "feral" state than any dog. They are naturally more resilient and easily more like their feline relatives, the lions and tigers and bears (well maybe not bears)

It seems that you either hate cats or love them - nothing in between. I happen to like both - dogs and cats (and hamsters and horses and every other critter with fur).
