please please PLEASE don't go on one of these calorie, carb, points counting diets etc...... i don't know of anyone who has the willpower to actually do the counting let alone stick to the diet!
just start eating healthier, watch the saturated fat you eat (fat that is solid at room temerature e.g. bacon rind, the fat in cheese, beef dripping ...) don't deprive yourself of anything or it will just do your head in, you'll want it all the time!
if you fancy chocolate, have one of those little freddo bars by cadbury, tiny bars of chocolate that satisfy the craving. instead of crisps, try seasons by quaker: dont be put off by the fact they're crispbreads, its the same as eating anything made out of corn e.g salt and vinegar chipsticks, wotsits etc! they taste gorgeous (not 2 fussed on the cheese and onion ones tho, a bit bland for me!) and they only have 2.5g of fat, 0.4g of which saturates, fantastic! they do have over 100 calories, but if you're eating plenty of fruit and veg based meals throught the day this is fine.
try this site for healthy recipes (you can even filter the search results for recipes containing the most amount of calories and fat etc you want, or if you have to avoid certain foods you can use the filter to do this too, really good idea) http://www.recipezaar.com. its brilliant.
look for healthy soup recipes to take to work. they're so easy to make and last up to 3 days in the fridge so once you've made it you dont have to worry about what to have for a few days! just have a brown bread roll with it, i'm not keen but kingsmill ones are lovely. but always use stock granules, much healthier and easier, and i actually prefer using them. the knorr chicken one is brill, i havent tried the vegetable one yet though.
chicken and turkey are the leanest meats, and chicken is sooooooooo versatile theres so many recipes for it! even if its just grilling chicken with seasoning, like the schwartz shotz, little sachets of seasoning like chargrill, bbq, cajun etc makes it much more exciting and its so easy! served up with a nice big salad with a bit of fresh lemon or lime juice for more interest, or low fat dressing (you can buy the one you get with a macdonalds side salad in tesco!) and a small jacket potato or some new potatoes. mmmmmmmm!
the bbc food site has nice recipes, too. just look for simple ones that dont take too long or dont require ingredients you'll use once and throw away.
i haaaaaaate exercising but it does make a difference and you see the weight start to come off a bit sooner: grab a mate, a dog or a friends dog if you dont have one and try to have a few walks throughout the week. dont laugh at this bit, but buy a skipping rope and skip on the spot in the garden for as long as you can whenever you can, and try using a trampette when watching your favourite programmes instead of sitting there trying to fight the urge to snack!
hope this helps, if you want a few recipes or a few more tips, just let me know by answering one of my questions and i'll come back to answer more of yours! good luck :)

Well first off, never "SHOVE" anything into your mouth :)
Second, tummy weight is EXTREMELY important to lose because abdominal fat is most closely linked to heart disease and cardiovascular risks! SO GET MOVING! KEEP ACTIVE!
If you notice that your stomach area is bloated or just plain "round", start by elimating fats and unnecessary carbs. Including candy, chocolate, white rice, white anything! THEN remember to start your day with cereal and fruit. Drink water through the day. Oh and your breakfast cereal should be very high in fiber and include about 5 grams of protein per serving. Lunch will naturally be smaller if you fill up in the morning! So again, go for whole grains, vegetables, SOUP! Lean protein sources are great too. And dinner, if you eat lots of breakfast, will be almost unsatisfying to eat. You just won't be as hungry if you really fill up in the morning. That way you have all day to burn off the calories you ate too!! If you eat lots of dinner and no breakfast, when are you going to burn off those dinner foods? In your bed? While you're sleeping? No way.
Dinner can be simple. Something easily digestible.
Just remember to lower caloric intake. DRINK LOTS OF WATER. AND ALWAYS MOVE!

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

Try eating white meat (tuna fish, grilled chicken breast, fish etc.), salad with little bit of light dressing, low fat yogurt, pop smart popcorn, eggs, skim milk, fruit besides bannan's and grapes and vegies. This is basically the diet I was on when I lost all of my weight. I would eat 2 eggs, fat free yogurt, and apple sticks for Breakfast, Lunch I would have a grilled chicken salad or tuna fish and fruit, I would have a snack I would eat a bag of pop smart pop corn. Dinner I would have steamed veggies with no butter or salt and either grilled fish or chicken breast. Also I drank a bunch of water everyday!!! That's the key. With my snack I had a diet coke (only one a day)!!! I rode a stationary bike for 30 min. every day, but with in a couple of months I increased and rode for 1 hour a day. I lost 35lbs off this diet.

If you want to loose excess weight, you need to modify your diet to some extent by cutting down on calories. But make sure that it is nutritious, or else it will only increase your appetite and make you feel hungry, when your main goal is trying to loose weight. Exercising regularly is equally important. For long term fat loss, the exercise program should consist of a combination of weight training and aerobic exercises.
