If they say that "god" blesses those who believe in him, and religion is the basis of morality, then how come countries with very secular policies and mostly secular people like the Scandinavian countries, Japan, UK, etc have the lowest crime rates in the world and CONSTANTLY tops the list of most livable countries?!

how come countries with very religious people continue to be poor (like India and Indonesia) and tops the list of least livable countries (like Nigeria)

really?
so the high rate of divorce, the high rate of scandals whether they be governmental or private busines, the consistant load of taxation on the working man, the high rates of diseases that are sexually transmitted, the lack of concern for fellow countryman are the 'best living conditions'?

Even the secular countries base their secularism upon religious principles. They also have substantial populations of commited religious adherents who influence how their communties live. The poor nations like Nigeria etc are not poor through religion, but poor through greed and corruption...or, irreligous practices; and a lot of that poverty is sustained by the "respectable" secular countries. It was Britian that made Bangladesh the poorest country, not their religion. India too, poverty-stricken after the secular British, has now a fast-growing economy along with China which is also "secular".
Religion does matter...what holds communities together when an earthquake and a tsunami and a volcano all wipe out thousands of their neighbours? ask any Indonesian.

I would say the US is a pretty nice place to live and we are a very religious society (becoming less so as time goes on, but we are also becoming less of a desirable place to live as time goes on as well...).
The other countries you mentioned have always been historically very religious places as well. The majority of historically Christian nations are all at the top of those lists. Taking one moment in time, now, and examining the information you provided above tells nothing of what got them to that point. An equally argument could be made that it is religion that got them there. You could also make the argument from your facts, that some religions are better than others.

Those countries still have their own problems. The primary difference is the family. Because they are more family oriented, they have less problems, but they are also more secular in the makeup of their populations. They don't have the mixing we have here.

As for God's Blessing, you don't expect them in this old system. It is when you live through Armageddon, or get resurrected, the blessing come with everlasting life on a paradise earth. This life is but a speck compared to living thousands of years and going out into the universe to explore.

God blesses those who not only believe in him but also practice his religion. And then I don't think the status of countries like "secular" or "islamic" identifies what is in peoples's hearts. Only God knows what's in your heart and mind. For instance, those so-called muslims who are terrorists cannot be considered as the true followers of Islam cause Islam propogates peace. Though those terrorists are from islamic counties their behaviour is far from Islam. So to be religious and believe in God doesn't mean just to say "I believe in God or I am religious", but to practice the religion with a sincere heart according to Allah's will. What about United Arabic Emirates? They are pretty flourishing!

Scandinavia? Lack of Health care - Lots of STD's
Japan - You can go to prison for breaking into a pop machine
UK - Now really, their crime rate is comparable to the US.

The countries you describe, are in their position due to lack of resources, not religion.

Canada has ranked among the Top countries - not Secular.
You need better information.

My personal opinion is that those who are deeply religious often don't look to change things for the better, either because they expect their deity to do it or because they believe in a stagnant view of the world (their god is unchanging, so we should be too!)

Of course, it's distinctly possible that the evidence you have presented is merely correlative, meaning that you can't assume that one thing caused the other. It's equally possible that people are less religious because they live in a safe and technologically advanced country.

Maybe they are more concerned about spiritual well-being than materialization. Secular countries often have many suicides because people start feeling like robots for the system.

because of the fact they are brainwashed and close minded. maximum of those human beings surely lack a great style of the education you look to think of they are getting. regrettably the education gadget is exceptionally undesirable in some factors and that they are actually not taught to work out the evidence without bias. a great style of it rather is because of the fact for some years conservative politicians have denied the assumption of education and faith being differentiated at school, as seen by potential of the ruling that the assumption of smart layout would desire to study alongside with evolution. whilst this sort of element happens and those human beings do not realize it rather is going on, the close mindedness makes it extra handy for politicians to scare those human beings into vote casting for them by potential of asserting issues like the liberals are evil and could take over the international, and so on. this happens around the globe, even in Saudi as i'm constructive you're conscious. in simple terms because of the fact each and every physique is from the west would not recommend that they continually have the superb education or that they are actually not ignorant or in denial. playstation . do not hate grammar. discovering grammar helps your recommendations make new connections, in simple terms like different varieties of education. conflict lack of awareness, even lack of awareness of grammar :)

That is a HUGE generalization. So many factors go into a country's economy, regardless of religion. Worse, you applying a "Christian" theological statement (which isn't actually true) to Hindu cultures?
