I'm caring for my friend's boy. He doesnt have a collar so I was looking into getting one for him. I heard rolled leather was the best for longhaired breeds but....my friend is a veggie head and I dont wanna upset her by putting hide on her dog. Is there a such thing as rolled pleather collars?

So Sorry for your vegan friend, but actually you heard correctly....a rolled leather collar is best for a Pom. Flat collars will cause hair breakage around the neck area and if her Pom has a good coat, it will spoil the appearance of the dog. I've never seen rolled pleather.

Here is some good information on selecting the right collar:

Aspen makes some nice rolled nylon collars-that should work for both the pups hair and your friends sensibilities.

Try a harness. He won't have any pressure on his little throat when/if he pulls so it would be safer for him. U can bring him into the pet stores so u can try the different sizes. Good Luck
