Yes, your set will accept 1080i input and convert it to 720p for display. The picture will look fine.

NO BUT IF THE CONTENT YOU ARE TRYING TO PLAY IS 1080i NATIVE RESOLUTION IT WILL BE DOWN SCALED TO 720P BUT THERE ISNT A NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BOTH RESOLUTIONS.
