Cinnamon is the bark of the plant called Cinnamomum verum, the best native is from sri lanka and southern india. But, the related species Cassia (Cinnamomum aromaticum) is also labelled cinnamon and sold. Real cinnamon are sold as quills, where as the cassia are sold as barks.
