Casting practicalities aside, the center crunched some numbers and estimated deporting everyone would cost $200 billion within five years.Less if done right away.
But that is for a mass deportation and not taking into account the fact that half or more would return to their country's themselves rather than face deportation.
It has been found that the long term saving would add up to much more, but over a longer period of time.
There are no good reasons for granting amnesty to illegals, its a very impractical thing to do.it creates a thought that you can be a criminal and then be rewarded with the gift of a green card or better. Its simply wrong from every aspect in my way of thinking.

No. It is NOT a good idea to give illegals amnesty. There are 20 million of them here now, and it would swell to 50 million as soon as amnesty was declared.
On top of that, only 1/3 of the illegals are here to do hard work for next to no money. Another third are dependents, and the last third are hard-core criminals.
Don't bite off more than you can chew. Deportation of illegals and prosecution of employers is the only way to handle this growing problem.
Otherwise, we should simply abandon the borders altogether.

There are reasons not to deport screened illegals already here once the problem is solved w/ dismantling of the education and benefits magnets, but cost of deportation is not a reason. Los Angeles county alone pays $1 billion a year on benefits for illegal immigrants. The state of California pays another $10 billion a year, and the feds pay still more, just for the same group.
The cost of our children's futures in degraded schools is the biggest cost.
However, fix the problem going forward, deport gang members and the twice illegal, don't give 'family reconciliation' rights to those here to bring in still more, and let's talk.

How's about this-- allow more legal immigration; put all illegals at the back of the line. Make them wait even longer/pay even more for citizenship?
As long as the standard of living is vastly different here versus Mexico, people are going to risk everything. And if someone wants it that bad, why not give it to them?
We don't have to open the gates wide open, but maybe we can at least open them.

Well considering 60% of all children born in Houston are illegal. If that's about $2000 each. Not to mention the millions spent educating the little chollos. I would say we would cut a profit within 2 years. But wait.....illegals don't make us any money so it would all be spent on jumbo jet flights home.

Amnesty for unskilled illegals will quickly make them unemployed because they will be entitled to minimum wage and welfare. New illegals will come and take their jobs at less pay..
Employers of illegals should be fined or jailed. The problem will then take care of itself.
