You have to make the best of a bad situation. The examples of your neighbors is certainly an example of the chaos that can enter your life if you loose your faith, or despair. If anything draw strength from this trial - it is making you stronger. Have you ever read The Screwtape letters - CS Lewis? It would certainly give you some great insight into the nitty gritty of the everyday struggle with good and evil we all face. It blew my mind the first time I read it. Always focus on the 'log in your own eye' as opposed to the 'speck in your brothers eye'.

I sympathize with you, because if you aren't happy, safe and secure in your own home, the rest just doesn't seem to matter. We all need the security of that sanctuary. Try to re-adjust your home to up the tranquility factor. Maybe get a fan or fountain - some thing with a white noise to help with overhearing your neighbors. Cover your windows with sheer material to shield your view and still allow sunlight in. If your neighborhood is littered with bottles and cans or other trash. Dedicate one day a week to picking up trash and helping to clean up your neighborhood (wear gloves and be careful of bio-hazards!) you don't have to be Mother Theresa, but doing the down and dirty certainly does your soul good. Best of luck.

Study the scriptures, pray. Pray to have the heart of Jesus. These are probably hurting people. Lost. Who knows. I worked with a guy that abused me on my job, verbally. When I was also going to a counseling group. They advised me to give him a break, think about him and why he is so angry maybe. Show him concern. The other guys at work made his job very hard for him. So I took the advice, and made his days the best I could. With Gods help I did. Now we are the best working buddies.

It was all worth it. God bless.

Find something peaceful to do in quiet areas of the house. Even when there is chaos around you, try to find a space where you can read the Bible or other inspirational items. Put on head phones with up beat music. Keep a prayer in your heart and stay as positive as possible.
Good luck and may God bless you.

I woud suggest that you try to find as many outside, church based activities as possible to get involved with. Most churches will provide transportation and once you have met enough Christian friends, then you will find it easier to be involved with them at activities away from the chaos.
When you are at home, try to find a quiet place to be with the Lord. Make it your own time to commune with Him and read His word. Avoid any conflict with those that trouble you but never compromise your beliefs or values.
Hope this helps. It is not easy being a Christian in the current times but He will give you the grace and strength you need.

While hell is going on around me I pray. Something else I do is listen to Christian music in my earphones to block out distractions while I pray and read the Bible. There are also a lot of fantastic Christian cable networks on TV, so try watching a show. When you pray ask for strength and help with any unbelief in you. Pray for those people around you. Pray for peace and blessing in their life. Pray for an opportunity to minister to them or for someone to come into there life to minister to them. Most of all be encouraged in Christ and live your life as an example for those around you. It won't be easy all the time, but they will come around eventually. Hate the sin not the sinner. Pray for them and forgive them when make you angry. Remember, the last thing the devil wants is for them to believe and behave like you. He wants to use them to break your faith and belief. Why? Just think about this: Is it more painful for someone to beat you up or would it be more painful for someone to hold you and make you watch as they beat up your child, or your little brother or sister, or your husband or wife, or your mother or father. He uses those closest to us to hurt us. I hope this helps you. It's been working for me.

I grew up in that kind of environment and it isn't easy. It does get to you. You have to find positive people to hang out with. Those who have your best interest at heart and will support you. Friends are the family you choose. Eventually you will get out and what you go through makes you strong and gives you compassion for others.

I understand how difficult that can be. Try if you can to stay away as much as possible (if you mean you live in the same house with them)
Join sports, a fitness club, go to every church function you can..and pray..
