In my opinion, old Maxie hit too hard for Floyd. I think that this fight would resemble Floyds fight with Sonny, but I think it would take Max a few more rounds to do it.
Floyd "The Gentleman" Patterson 55 wins 1 Draw and 8 losses with 40 knockouts famous for the peek-a-boo style and a really mean leaping left hook. The AP gave him the title of "The Best punch ever thrown" for his big left hook against Johansson.
Maximilian Adelbert Baer Cussen also known as Max Bear. 71 wins 18 losses and 53 knockouts. Had a completely devestating and deadly right hand. Max killed Frankie Campbell in the ring with just two punches in 1930 and some say he was responsible for Ernie Schaff's death too who died 6 months after they fought Max winning the decision, but reporters at the fight claim "They never seen a man get hit as hard as Max hit Ernie" Ernie complained about headaches and dizziness right after his fight with Max.
Max liked to keep the majority of his weight on his rear foot and used his height well, Floyd's leaping left hook would catch Max early but he would adjust. Floyd would be kept off balance by a surprisingly strong jab from Baer. Max would land his vicious right hand one to many times, knocking Floyd every round they fight sometimes three or five times.
Cus, Floyds trainer would stop the fight in the 5th round. Floyd once said "I do get knocked down a lot, but I get up a lot too" he would get up and Floyd would want a rematch and Lose that one too, Ala Sonny Liston.
Thanks Toughguy!

My grandfather would he relax in peace knew Max Baer personnaly and stated if Baer became no longer the variety of playboy and took his struggling with better heavily would were a suitable 5 all time heavyweight. He used to observe Baer exercising consultation and spar and together with Dempsey he had not in any respect considered a guy punch so difficult! what number heavyweights do u recognize of might want to punch a hollow in a heavybag? He also had an underrated jab. Patterson became a great boxer yet with the WORST chin of any Heavyweight Champion ever. And Baer became swifter then Liston or Johannson and u considered what they did to Patterson. Max Baer would kayo Floyd Patterson interior of 5.

Max Baer was a strong man and a great fighter if he wanted to and was serious. Patterson was cautious and was much lighter than Baer. This might not have ever happened, but if Baer took boxing seriously, he would have KOed Patterson inside of 8 rounds.
