i am not fat or skinny, but im trying to build muscles and lose fat at the same time so this is my plan.

i take 2 fat burning pills everyday, and 1 protein shake for breakfast

now these fat burning pills makes my heart rate go up a lot, and causes me to sweat and burn fat really fast. Example: i play basketball, my shirt is drenched in sweat and i need to constantly breathe, while my friends have little or no sweat, and are fine.

ive lost about 2 pounds just from taking them in 3 days, is this a healthy way to go?

ya im an avid runner (half-marathons, 10-milers, etc) and amauteur bodybuilder (5 foot 8 inches, have had 25 inch waist and 41 inch chest at the same time before), and those fat-burning pills are no good. protein shake is great, however. My advice is to work out hard (to build muscle. this will increase your metabolism greatly, which will cause you to lose fat at the same time). lifting weights >> cardio for losing weight, in my opinion, although both are great, and long-long distance cardio can really help you lose those last inches, if that's what you're looking for.

a few specific foods that are great for losing weight: yogurt, any kind of nuts, nonfat milk, water

foods that make you feel full for less calories: vegetables, fruits, protein shakes

oh, and juice isn't as good as people say it is for you. orange juice and many juices have high calories and no fiber. stick to water.

If you are trying to build muscle and lose weight you can not use the scale as an effective gauge. Too fast of weight loss is unhealthy and dangerous. You should aim for a balanced diet that gives you just slightly fewer calories than you burn. A loss of 2 lbs a week is a good rate for weight loss. Schedule your meals into several smaller meals rather than 3 big meals a day. This keeps you metabolism up. Stay away from the pills. You really don't need them to properly lose weight. Try reading a mens fitness magazine for ways to keep your work outs interesting.Good luck.

No....you're causing your heart to work harder, faster than it should... You should have no problem burning the fat and building muscle if you play basketball and lift weights...Muscles are only gonna build if you lift.....Just stay active and drink lots of water. The more you move, the more you burn as long as you're raising your heart rate. Pills are just too dangerous, especially the ones that cause your heart to race. You don't even need them....the company just wants your money. Now your protein shakes are a good idea..nothing wrong with those! Please just ditch the pills and put in a little more effort, like adding weights to your routine. You don't want irreversible damage to your heart just to try and lose a little fat and build muscle. Good luck!!

Those pills are dangerous. They aren't regulated by the FDA. They are often found to cause heart attacks and liver damage, among other things. People have died from taking diet pills. If you concentrate on working out and eating healthier, you'll lose weight in a healthy, effective way. This is the only way to lose weight long-term.

NO absolutely not. Its healthy to lose between 1 - 2 pounds a week not in 3 days.

it sounds like you're taking ephedrine. Now it isn't the safest thing in the world but as long as you take it at the proper doses you'll be fine, as I have taken it myself. Make sure you drink a lot of water, and dont take more then 2 pills a day.

um, more details would be helpful. what are in these diet pills?

if its a diuretic then they could be dehydrating you which might be why you lost the weight..
also, if there is caffiene in them, then you should be ok but id recommend taking a lower dose since you dont seem to be handeling it well.

You don't need pills. A balanced diet, (cut out dairy), and regular exercise alone will do the trick, with NO BAD side-effects. Stay hydrated. (WATER)
