KEEP CLEANING. you probably need to throw out more junk and sell any valuable items that you're not using. Also you need to get organized buy some bins to put things away in. you may also want to see about putting in some shelves around the house to get even more organized. When you're done CALL AN EXTERMINATOR!!!!!! From the way you're describing your home this may take some time so be patient.

Have a bin bag or box each for rags, rubbish, charity shop, boot sale, keep (marked accordingly), and starting from the top of your house, work your way through steadily. As each bag or box gets filled up, take rags and charity shop items to your favourite charity. (They get paid for rags by rag collectors, which is why I suggest labelling as such - saves charity volunteers sorting through it all again.)
When you start cleaning and dusting, after all is cleared away, (still from top to bottom), springle water on dusty carpets and floors to keep the dust down while you sweep or vacuum. Damp dusters do the same for shelves, etc.
Finally, a good polish with beeswax and elbow grease on furniture, will leave your house smelling nice and looking clean. Furniture sprays just leave a dreadful tacky feel to everything, so real polish is better in the long run.
Lastly, put on the kettle, sit back and enjoy a refreshing cup of tea. You'll have earned it!

It's always that way!! I hate it! Just keep throwing out stuff that you don't use. If it's been sitting in a closet for the past 6 months then you didn't even miss it. Get rid of it. Look up and see if there is a freecycling in your area. http://www.freecycle.com/ It's a service that you can give away stuff to people who otherwise couldn't afford your "mess". It's thier treasure. Tell the rats to start paying rent if they want to keep you up all night.

because as you pull things out of closets and the piles that they have been in it seems that there is more mess. It may take you awhile but keep going through the stuff and literally getting rid of everything you dont NEED. If after that you have room left you can bring in some things that you like.
Keep it up and you will be happy in the end.

It will look worse before it gets better. Make sure you put up shelves to get items off the floor. Invest in some plastic boxes to tidy items into as well. good luck

Im looking for someone to sort my house out.
I have stuff piled everywhere.
Im thinking of renting a place for a couple of months, hiring a big skip and starting from scratch.
