People in prison are "those that need help." Not in escaping, cuz that makes you a person in prison too... but they often need someone to talk to, maybe someone to visit. Sometimes they don't have anyone in their family who wants to associate with them, and that can get lonely. A letter saying "Hi, how are you?" or someone who is willing to listen to what they have to say may be all they need.

You are not God. It is probably a sin to assume that you could ever be, or to repeat His words in a context that makes it sound like He told you to. And sure, help prisoners. No problem there, but make them pay according to their crime. Murderers should die, rapists should be raped every day at random intervals, so on.

No! It is the weakness of human beings that make us think we should help always but you have remember they did what they did knowing the consequences. It was their choice that they made. It's the same as saying " if you do this, I'll give you a piece of candy but if you don't they won't get one." So why would you still give a piece of candy to someone who didn't?

Most in prison will serve their sentence, get released and come back into society. Would you rather they came back bitter, angry at the world and ready to commit more crime or knowing the love of God and trying to redeem themselves?

The bible says that you should visit those in prison. Keep them company even though they may have done wrong. Don't forsake them because of where they are. But it is not saying help them escape.

I love your question. First this is one of my favorite lines. We are all Gods children. That means all of us are from God. Even criminals, murders, and the most vile. They might be enemies but they still came from God. So, yes.

This is a great biblical command. It shows where our true heart is. Jesus dinned and spent time with mostly sinners, the outcast. If we can't love the unlovley at all, who are we inside.
Bless You.

Yes, I have called upon and written to those who are incarcerated. I pray for them and advocate for them when the opportunity arises.
