So according to all this nonsense, female masturbation is ok with god because it doesn't "waste seed," but for men it is a deadly offense...
Just another reason the Bible shouldn't be a final authority on our day to day basis in our modern time.

Honestly, as far as my studies and understanding of the bible go, there is nothing that even talks about masturbating. My brother has been a reverend for 8 years in the Assemblies of God church, and I can't even recall this passage. When you do find it, make sure you read what it says around it, because you may just be taking this passage out of context...But, I have read several books and they all have said that God's Word does not speak of masturbation...only that we should keep our heart's and minds clear of explicit sexual thoughts unless with our husband/wife.

The Bible doesn't necessarily say it like that. But I believe the passage you're referring to is found in Gen. 38:8-10. God asked Onan to impregnate his brither's wife who had died. When he chose to not raise up seed unto his brother, he was severely punished. I hope this helps. God Bless You.

Well, I haven't heard of that verse, however... I like to think of it this way. What are you doing when you masterbate? What is your mind thinking about? The bible says if you look/think about someone lustfully, then you have already committed adultery with that person in your heart... so there is your answer

There is no proof that the story of Onan was meant to apply to masturbation. Masturbation was not mentioned in the story. Onan had a bout of coitus interruptus while having sex with his brother's widow.

OK. Well, I will not give you this info. I do not know myself. However, it is OK to masturbate. It is better to do that, than to bring a child into the world when you cannot support it. And if you suppress the sex urge too much, you get rapists, sexual deviants, and other bad things. So if you feel the urge, masturbate. That way, you are guaranteed to turn out better.
Sorry!

I've heard of that passage, too, but I've never actually seen it. I'm putting this one on my Watch List.
