I guess that what you consider "promiscuous" would not mean the same thing to a culture that promoted same.
Captain James Cook explored the Pacific Ocean and "discovered" societies that practiced what would be called by Victorian and Puritan standards promiscuous.
Similar findings were reported by the HMS Bounty, and Margaret Mead did extensive studies, the most noted one is Coming of Age in Samoa, that reflect that culture's mores concerning sexuality.

Promiscuity is discouraged by conservative modern day religions. However, some sects, cults, and religious orders have a place for promiscuous behavior. For example, there were special examples of religious prostitution in ancient Mesopotamia, Greece and Rome.

i'm afraid that you don't understand what you're speaking about. I admit, even with the actuality that, that i'm no professional on Islam. yet i understand that promiscuity is taken under consideration Haraam, meaning "forbidden." adult males aren't any further inspired to sleep round, fairly the opposite. there's a distinction between napping round and having plural marriage. In plural marriage, a guy is taking monetary duty for each female with whom he has sexual sex. through extension, this regulates the paternity of any offspring. There are Muslim adult males who watch pornography and cheat on their different halves. There are also Muslims who drink, and eat beef. yet in the journey that they are non secular Muslims, than they don't seem behaving themselves. There are also Catholic women those who've abortions, and Hindu adult males who eat beef. yet that does no longer recommend that Catholicism encourages abortion, and Hindu supplies the golf eco-friendly elementary to eat a burger.

im sure that there is no religion that encourages one to potentially harm there bodies and put them at risk of things like STD's or even death. Is there a religion that encourages suicide, if there is then they are probably a part of the same religion.

Yes. The Children of God often engage in wife swapping, and have orgies at their conferences. Founder David Berg wrote a book called "Come on, ma! Burn your bra!"
A central tenet to their theology is the "Law of Love," that simply stated maintains that if a person's actions are motivated by unselfish, sacrificial love and are not intentionally hurtful to others, such actions are in accordance with Scripture and are thus lawful in the eyes of God. They believe that this tenet supersedes all other biblical laws. They say that since God created human sexuality, that it a natural emotional and physical need and that heterosexual relations between consenting adults of legal age is a pure and natural wonder of God's creation, and permissible according to Scripture. It is their understanding of the Scriptures that the followers of Christ are His bride, called to love and serve Him with the fervor of a wife.
Hope that helps. I am not a promoter or believer in Children of God doctrine. I am simply answering your question.

You'd have to be a little more specific. Besides, what do you need a religion's permission for sex for? If you want to engage in casual sex, no one is going to stop you. Just remember to be safe and protected.

It depends. Satanism (REAL Satanism as codified by Anton LaVey, not any of that devil-worshipping or Luciferean crap) encourages responsible sexual activity in accordance with individual needs. That means sexual activity between two or more consenting adults using the proper precautions against disease and pregnancy if children are not desired.

none of the big religious movements do ...
however, Islam allows marrying many women, polygamy, which could be construed as promiscuous sexual behaviour resulting from theses marriages, although the koran says to only marry as many women as you can take care of and keep happy equally, and although most muslims limit themselves to 4 wifes, there really is no statutory limit in islam about the number of wifes ....
god bless you

The Children of God, but they changed their name recently to something else.
They encourage sex with multiple partners and have children experience it as young as five months. They marry off young girls to much older men. It's sickening.

Based on 1 Cor 10:23-24, you can say Christianity.
By the way, the bible never takes a position on premarital sex.
It does take a position regarding adultery. This restriction applies to Israelites (Jews) only.
