try dating a guy that lives 7-8 hours away. It can be done. 2 hours isn't too bad. You meet half way. Or have the person who has cheaper gas where they live travel most of the time and the other person can help out with gas. stay over on a weekend. make sure it's something you really want so you aren't spending so much money and time. That's the only thing about long distance because it can get expensive. Even 2 hrs away. See what he thinks.

Before we were married, my wife lived half the world away. We met through work and had many mutual friends. If the person is right for you then you know the wait is worth it. Call and write each other daily. It really helps to know when the separation will end and you can finally be together. Trust each other but don't accept any excuses or give second chances. It is hard enough as it is so if the other person isn't 100% committed then break it off.

NEVER go to a guys house that is not in your town where you live....call me old fashioned but make him come to you! Get movie tickets, tell him you have tickets and would he like to come see the movie with you. Get tickets for an early Saturday afternoon....this way you can spend a little time together and he can head home early evening or so since he is two hours away. In the beginning he should always come to you...alot of men won't agree with me...too bad....but a guy who is willing to drive to see you....likes you....there's no question about that. My guy I'm with now lived a little over an hour away when we met and he always drove to see me....he said he couldn't get me off his mind no matter what he did and he couldn't wait everytime to see me again! I knew he liked me....cause he was willing to do the work....we live together now and are very much in love!

I've never asked a guy out but there are many ways, you know?
Just approach him and ask him if he would like to see a movie with you or something or that you've got tickets or something like that.
If you ask him out first, I think you should go to his house first or meet somewhere near his place..I mean, a place that it's not too far from him.
Now if you keep dating, you guys can take turns. Like, "tonight I'll pick you up and tomorrow you will"

you can meet him half way at a resturant. just ask him like you just ask us how you do it. if he is a good catch then it could be worth the drive. weekends can be spent together and that would make it more exciting when you get to see one another

you ask him out over the phone. then you start dating. the first time you drive to his town. the next time, he drives to your town...
if you really like each other, you might want to consider moving closer to each other, so you don't have to drive that much.
