You're absolutely right; I agree with you, bout time somebody put it out there, because no one really thinks that 90% of the Martial Arts disciplines out there come from the core basis of disciplines that came from China.
I'm glad to know there's more people that feel this way, because there shouldn't be any predjudice against any Martial Art or Martial Artist from another discipline's practitioner(s), I'm sure that most of us with experience in the Martial Arts have seen quite a bit of this kind of pride or ignorance.
It's just been pride that does this, you should be proud of your discipline, but to say it's better than another just means showing ignorance. and this' been a problem from the early days of Martial Arts, especialy in the western civilization, and prob'ly before that.
So thanks for bringin' that up man, hopefully those people in the other disciplines that say theirs is better will see this and actually learn what it's about, as I hope will the people who don't practice Martial Arts will come to learn what the True meanings of the martial Arts.
and the people who've never had any training in Martial Arts calling it gay and other such bullsh!t (sorry, but it's how I feel abut people who act like this) is just more proof of their own ignorance, just seems to me that they're scared of something they don't understand, so they feel better about themselves by dumping on it or putting it down.
unfortunately, it's problems we gotta deal with, it's just the product of human nature man, hopefully one day we'll all be able to get past and rise above petty such problems.
Tang Soo!!!

the element is that for the period of US and how the martial artwork is taught immediately the relation between an instructor and disciple is plenty nearer to instructor scholar relationship than father son relationship in the classic era. In that experience it somewhat doesn’t be counted what the religious point of the instructor is as long as they're knowledgeable in the section they're coaching and additionally you will get alongside with them. in case you hit upon a very classic instructor the spirituality ought to come into play, yet then you definitely might additionally ought to attend to them as plenty better than purely martial arts instructor. yet somewhat even in the China, Japan, and Korea that time of classic know is often long previous, so don’t assume to work out an instructor that should be waiting to take that time of dedication.

This is a common human psychology, everyone thinks that their own choice is the best compared to others. This happens even in the world of martial arts. Although every art, science, philosophy, religion are equal and the same, their objectives are the same, still people tend to keep those petty differences and fight like animals.
This is all because of Politics, the only thing ruining our lives, which has divided every human in the planet.
Politics, you can't live with it, you can't live without it.

First and foremost, kudos for recognizing the respect of brother/sisterhood.
I feel those "haters" internally feel like crap because they don't train. So they employee the "shooting star" hater method. One thing about martial arts that turns many Americans off is that they must release their ego to begin training. They have to make mistakes and be corrected in front of others. Many people cannot do this. These are the very same egos that "hate". Don't hate me 'cause you ain't me!
Also, those who don't train do not understand what trained people are capable of. They think we just go jump around in pajamas a couple of times a week. They have no idea.
Let them hate, they are closed minded and it is not our job to enlighten them. If they are happy without training. Let them be. If they talk crap, just smile and nod.
Be like the lily. The lily rises from the slime of the swamp to be pristine and beautiful.

well, people put down karate, because they dont think its worth it and that it dont help you and its not a sport. Also its not very populair and you dont get paid the big buckes, but i totally agree with you, people shouldent be like oh this martial art sucks, and this and that. To me, martial arts is whats in your preseption in that makes sense, if you like that way then go for it, and if people dont respect it well, lets see them take you, but regardless of form its about time and effort and you can be really good and so there for i agree with you.

Mostly it's because they have seen a fake martial artists who train at black belt factory or train at one. So in end they think all martial arts are the same.

Well, I think that some people are willing to show their prowess in MA and train further by competing against others.
Still some other martial arts and artist denounce this but have yet to prove their skills.
So when someone says you style is antiquated and inferior, it's probably because they have fought people who practice that style and defeated them easily, OR they have tested their techniques in combat where as you (in general) have not.

They are just closed minded people who think that if they're doing one martial art it's because all the other ones suck when in reality all of them can be deadly when you're good at it

Because they have small minds and small powers...they lack any depth in their own abilities and have little to no true value of their physical and soulful powers within them!! They don't understand that true power and force of the warrior within! Its a study of the Art of being at your peak performance!!

I dont think style matters when you're dealing with a Master Vs. an amatuer.
What i will say is that AMERICAN Karate is by far the worst style i've ever taken part in. I'm kind of ashamed that i started out with it.
Looking back, I realize that a good street fighter can take down a karate black belt.
