I really don't know much about jews except they are highly offended by saying things link "Jew them down" or "cheap like a jew". Where did these sayings come from? Are they all cheap? What is the deal?

The terms come from a feeling that if you had business dealings with a Jewish businessperson you would be bested.

As for starting World War II, it was conservative fascists, people dedicated to merging government and business. They need diversions and threats so people will follow them like sheep.

Those phrases come from the stereotypes that Jews are tight with money, and that Jews try to scam people out of money. However, these stereotypes are completely false. It comes from a time in Christian Europe when the Catholic Church thought it was "unChristian" to deal with money, and banks, so the Church left the banking and money handling to Jews and Muslims. No, most Jews aren't cheap. Most, if not all Jews give to charity on a regular basis.

Well I am Jewish and far from cheap. I think the fact that Jewish people had things stolen away them (both materially and physically) during the war may have helped them to value things more. The sayings are used by people of this generation who don't know any better.

The hatred comes from jealousy and envy. Jews have had the wisdom in the scriptures for centuries before the rest of us. As a result the used this wisdom and taught it to their children. This made many of them successful. People saw their success and were jealous. The blamed the Jews for their own lack of success instead of taking responsibility for their own failures or short comings. It still happens today.

Are any stereotypes actually completely true? No, but they get pulled out of some generalizations based on some kind of truth.

As a people, Jews tend to be careful with their money and to teach their children to be careful with their money For many, this has lead to large savings, careful investments, and accumulation of wealth. People who are not so careful with their money have often labeled these practices with unflattering terms.

Of course not all Jewish people manage their money well, so these are just generalizations. Also some Jewish people (as in all groups of people) have been frugal to the extreme, which has lead to the accusation that they are "cheap."

One of my best friends when I was young was Jewish. Her family spent very little money on "things" like most families in my community did. When we were in highschool, they finally replaced the cars they had driven for 20 years, and they paid cash for their new cars. Their home was clean but very simple. They took good care of all of their possessions and only replaced something when it was completely worn out. They did not worry about being at the height of fashion or owning the latest doo-dad; consequently, some people thought they were weird, and also as a result, they retired with a good amount of money to take them through their later years.

I admired and respected them for their wise management of their money.

That saying came from people who were jealous of the Jews being smart and disciplined with their money. I personally admire them for that.
