Well you didn't describe it. Was it hot or cold? What do you think was in it? Search at allrecipes.com they have everything! This is my favorite shrimp and/or crab dip, I have learned to bring a few copies of the recipe with me when I bring it to parties, everyone always wants it!

Shrimp Dip

1 can medium shrimp, rinsed and drained and chopped (can use crab or combine the two and double the other ingredients)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons minced onion or green onion
2 tablespoons Wishbone Russian dressing (can use Catalina if you can't find Russian, but it's not as strong)
2 teaspoons Worcheshire sauce

Mix the cream cheese, dressing and sauce together. Add the onion and shrimp. Tastes best made the day before so the flavors blend. I like this with Keebler wheats or Ritz crackers.

I have one for crab.

Adjust this depending on how many people you will be serving.

Take one can of shredded crab meat, rinse in a strainer to get any shell parts that may have been missed in packaging. Then put the crab meat in a bowl.

Then take an 8oz. package of softened cream cheese and add it to the crab meat.

Then take some cocktail sauce, I'd say about half a cup and pour it into the mixture.

Mix together and serve with crackers.

For every extra can of crab meat you use, if you are making it for a larger crowd add another package of cream cheese and and another 1/2 cup of cocktail sauce and so on and so forth.

The recipe above should feed about 4 people comfortably so just adjust it accordingly.

I think warm crab dip is delicious. You use lump crab meat from the can or fresh crab that has been steamed and shredded. Saute some onion and garlic until soft. Mix crab, onion and garlic into softened cream cheese. Salt and pepper as desired. You can also add a drop or two of tobasco if you like it a little spicy. Put in a casserole dish and top with slivered almonds or sprinkle with paprika. Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly. Serve with assorted crackers and bread. YUM!

The amounts of each of ingredients depend on taste and how much you want to make.

Whenever any friends have a party, they always have me bring my "shrimp & crab ball" for finger foods. Take one can crab meat or 1 pkg artificial crab meat, 1 can baby shrimp, 1 block cream cheese - brought to room temp, & 1 pkg finely shredded cheddar cheese. Mix all together by hand & add 1 tbsp worchester sauce, a few drops of tabasco & dried chives. Mix together by hand & form into ball or log shape. Roll in chopped pecans & serve wtih assorted crackers......Great with coctails!!

Place 1 box of cream cheese in the center of a large platter.
Mix together 1/2-1 lb shrimp (deveined, cooked, and shelled) and shrimp cocktail sauce.
Pour over cream cheese.
Arrange Ritz-type crackers around the outer edge.
