I am interested in buying one in .45 Colt. I would like to know what the sights are like, how accurate they are, how the trigger pull is, how easy/fast they are to reload, and how the general quality is.

I've never fired one but have seen a few where i work, they are a close quarters weapon, they're marketed as a snake killer, accuracy is non existant at ranges farther than a few feet, the .45/410 model will shoot 410 shotgun shells which gives you more of a chance of hitting your intended target simply because of the shot pattern(or total lack of one) from such a short barrel. The machining on the Bond derringers is exceptional, the trigger pull from what I understand is anywhere from 8 to 12 pounds!(making it rather difficult to remain on target while pulling the trigger)These pistols are not meant for speed or accuracy, but as a last ditch weapon. They are a little over priced for what they are, a heavy, 2 shot close quarters hand cannon. They still have a coolness factor tho, you'll surely be the 1st on your block to have one.

If you're gonna use a derringer for personal protection, ( what else would you use one for?), then chances are you won't be using the sights. From a couple of feet away, you can't miss, no matter how bad a shot you are. The 45 LC will take any person down, with just one shot. You've got 2 shots. If you really need to reload, then it would take around 13 seconds, if you have your ammo ready, and if you are slow. Good huting!

I'm unfamiliar with this particular brand of derringer, but beware; When you start putting large cal. ammo in a derringer your hand will defiantly pay a price. I fired a .357 mag. double derringer ONCE. I did manage not to drop the thing. I had two very distinct bleeding cuts between my thumb and forefinger caused by the hammer during recoil. Also, you had to tighten the hand grip after every use. A .38 special is about as big as a person needs for the distance a derringer is intended. Please be careful with that thing. They have been known to discharge in your boot.

haven't fired the bond arms derringer, but have fired others. the 357mag derringer is like a grenade going off in your hand. i would opt for a smaller cal. if i was you.
