A man lives on the 50th floor of the apartment building, goes to work, and takes the elevator down to the 1st floor, leaves for work, comes back, takes the elevator to the 35th floor, then takes the stairs the rest of the way. Why?

He is too short and can't reach the buttons on the elevator above 35.

He is a "little person" and can't reach the 50th floor button... However, he can reach the 1st floor - he gets on and goes down to the first floor which he can reach - and then when he returns, he can only reach the 35th floor - so he rides up that far, then walks the next 15 floors up to his apt!

Because a beautiful girl lives on thee 50th floor & her working place is on the 35th floor so after work she takes stairs to go to 50tn floor as she is afraid of elevators & this chap want to chit chat with her.

Because the elevator in his apt building only goes up to 35 then the rest is stairs. It didnt say he took the elevator from this apt to the first floor it said he went to work and then to the elevator to the first floor there. It could be that he parked in the ramp garage at work which is on the 2nd level and he took it to the first floor of his work building? Let us know...

He is the building's maintenance manager. he check the front desk for jobs.fixes The problem on the 35th floor and then finding the problem in hidden maintenance parts of the building.

his wife is waiting in the room, thats why he is reluctant to see her and taking elevator to 35th floor... and leaves for work fast taking elevator to 1st floor to escape her....

he's a midget--and if it rains he takes the elevator all the way to the 50th floor(uses his umbrella to press the button)
