Try this:
Wait until the sun is going down, then try to wake the kitten up. Cats are most active at dusk and dawn, so she should hop right out of bed and want to play. If she doesn't, go to the vet as soon as you can.
Kittens normally have lots of energy all day long, but each cat is different. You may just have gotten a sleepy one.

Kittens are much like babies. Actually that's exactly what they are...babies. New borns tend to sleep all the time at first. They gradually start to sleep less and less. Sleeping helps in their developement. Don't worry, soon you will be sorry that your kitten doesn't nap so much anymore, cuz she will be up to mischief. Remember also when you were little and your paents would take you to the park, and when you got cranky later, they would say, oh baby just take a little nap, you had a BIG day? Well BIG days ahead!
Congrats on your kitten!

Did you're taking the kitten to the vet in the two weeks you had her ? I pretty propose that when adopting ANY animal from a shield, you're taking them on your vet as many animals come out of shelters with scientific issues - some private, nicely funded shelters vet their animals nicely however the vast majority basically do common vaccine and little else. it rather is a not common subject - many small shelters have not got money for vet care. lots of those small shelters record to city or city councils. So i might write your community aldermen approximately situations on the shield.

I would take her immediately to the vet for a check up , i had a kitten years ago that was running around like crazy then the next he was very poorly but i knew just by looking at him he was ill , i took him to the vet , he had a dangerously high temperature , still don`t know why but he was given an antibiotic injection and i was told the next 24hours were vital , i had to keep wetting his little nose & lips with water so he didnt dehydrate , thank goodness he picked up after a couple of days , but they do deteriorate very quick so i would get to the vet ....

If you haven't yet brought her ti the vet, this would be a good time. Cats do sleep a lot, in between short bursts of activity. But she also is going to need shots, if she hasn't had them, so start up a relationship now with the doctor who will be caring for her. If her behavior changed, she may be sick. If you adopted her from a shelter, this is very likely. So go to the vet's office!

my kittens go through spurts they sleep alot an mainly only get up to eat an drink at night their a little more energetic but you may try worming her at 8 weeks she should be playful if youve had her awhile if you have only had her we will say a week she could still be getting used to your house bein away from her mom an her litter mates i would say worm her show her attention give her balls with bells you get 4 for like 1.00 at wal-mart but if youve not had her long give her time to come around an get used to her new surrondings an family but i would worm her most kittens an puppies all need wormed at 6 weeks if you think something is severly wrong you could call the vet good luck

They do sleep a great deal yes.. but this is a kitten we're talking about. Get your little fur ball to the vet as soon as possible. Her blood sugar could be low..

You have to remember that cats are nocturnal. It is normal for cats to sleep all day long, especially a kitten. They are like human babies, they need a lot of rest. But I suggest that she may be bored, try getting some toys and playing with her. That or she can be somewhat shy. When we first got our kittens, they just slept around all day (they were 8 weeks). Now they are three months old and they are annoying...lol. Give it time! She may be depressed and lonely.

Is she vaccinated? I know kittens can get very drowsy after vaccination. If you haven't vaccinated or dewormed her that could be the problem. She may also be depressed, kittens can become depressed very easily! I would call the vet make an appointment, get her dewormed(by a Vet the store brough stuff just gives them diarreah and doestn't get rid of all the worms!) and vaccinated! Good luck!
