Yes, it is a kit of chemicals. And no, it does not wash out. If you are thinking you might loose your curls if you wash it, yes you can some if you wash it too soon, or too much after you first get your perm. Be sure and read the entire instruction paper before you start to work on your hair. It's not rocket science, lots of people do this everyday with nice results, just read and follow those instructions, and plan on living with the results for a long while.

NEVER wash your hair after ANY type of perm....it will react with the chemical, and completely ruin your hair!!! Yes, it is a chemical, and no, it won't wash out. You have to let it stay in for a certain amount of time before you can even get it wet.

Water causes a serious chemical reaction!!

DO NOT DO IT
it ruins ur hair and after two months u will TOTALLY regret doing it.
NEVER perm or relax ur hair and if you deside to (do u dare?) u should definatley get it do ne profassionally cuz ALL of ur hair could fall out if the chemicals touch ur scalp


but to actually answer ur question, YES it IS a chemicaL, and NO it cant just be washed out
