Everyone is going up at some point so if you're going down it will only be temporary. Even Christians with their intolerance and vindictive spite that is an insult to God don't spend too long in hell.

Jesus said that only a "little flock " of Christians would go to heaven and that there would be "other sheep" that were not to be in the heavenly class. These other sheep would be what Jesus called the meek who will inherit the earth. [ Luke 12:32, John 10:16 ]
Matthew 5:5--"Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth."
Psalm 37:11--"But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace."
Hell is the grave and is not a place of torture. [ Psalm 139:8--"If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there." ]
Jonah 2:2--"And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice." [ The belly of the fish would have become Jonah's grave, had God not rescued him.]
Hell will soon be done away with [ Revelation 20:13-14--"And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death."
Animals and people experience the same thing when they die as stated at Ecclesiates 3:19,20--"For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again."

Neither. There's no heaven or hell. If there is a heaven or hell, I am 100% assured of going to heaven, and neither will I go up or down when I do, because these places are outside the universe and thus outside the concepts of 'up' and 'down'.

I'm going where everyone is going in western culture - down in the ground. In the future, they may create graves that are above ground or in outer space so ... in that case, they'd be going up.

yes i know for sure. Do not trust in preachers to do your searching and interpreting of the Scriptures! What if they are wrong? IT IS YOUR SOUL! Jesus said search yourself! Why was the Bible written according to this following verse? "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life..." (I John 5:13). God wants you to know that you have eternal life! John 5:39 says: "Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life, and they are they which testify of me." God wrote the Bible so every person on earth could read it and find out what He requires for us to have eternal life. We can know for sure that we are going to Heaven.Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, least any man should boast.""What must I do to be saved?" was asked in Acts 16:30. Acts 16:31 gave the answer, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." Romans 4:5 says, "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness."

Yes I'm sure.
I shall go to heaven.
Because for that purpose only He sacrificed His precious life for me a sinner.

And I thought that it was arrogant people that thought they knew to whom that applied.

It's based on compassion for others, not how you feel about yourself.
