As far as I'm aware the team has to be in competitive play before the 2008 Olympics for it to be considered for the next Olympics..plus it has to be an U-23 team as well..so all the people you would think that would play cant!!! plus i do believe that Scotland wins more Age group football than the other UK areas!!! and add to that if we do play as a GB team, as has been mentioned Fifa will pull our individual teams from things like the WC or EC and make us compete as single entity!!! wonder how the commentators will enjoy that!!!

Damn right they should boycott the English team. This is the country that built the Millenium Dome for the UK in London, built the new National Stadium for England in London and exported the Poll Tax to Scotland and only abolished it when Thatcher watched the centre of London being ripped to Shreds. Remember when the Scottish Curling team won the Gold medal at the winter olympics 4 years ago. Well they were Scots whilst there was a chance of an English competitor winning a Gold medal, suddenly they are in the final and suddenly the English Broadcasting Corporation is classifying them as Brits.
Do you think Andy Murray would be called a Brit by the English press if he was crap. Well, here is some news for you lot, he is a Scot and proud of it. The UK is an amalgam of countries forced together that has no more long term credibillity then Yugoslavia or Checkoslovakia had. Being proud of your country isn`t a crime, it is just a pity that the English fail to understand that England and the UK are two different countries. Have nothing to do with them, they are backstabbing, contemptable, two faced good for nothings.

Traditionally, international football (soccer) in the UK is represented by our four separate nations, and not Great Britain, otherwise, International football would have been impossible in the early days of football. It wouldn't do any good at all having a Great Britain team after all those years, so you're right, the Scottish, Welsh, Irish, and hopefully the ENGLISH should refuse to participate in such a venture.
Why did we have to be burdened with the Olympic games for in the first place?

It is a British team and quite frankly Scotland or Wales will do well to get any players into the team. Our football is not the best and there comes a time when we should stop kidding ourselves. The big issue though may be is this the starter to Britain entering a team for the World Cup?

Team Nigel will not contain Scots because nobody wants to be associated with an Oafdom, as england now is.
The English fans are racist scum and giving them the excuse to wave the union jack is a second go at empire building again.
They are the worst people imaginable and decent people, regardless of their country of origin, loathe them.
Up yours Nigel.

I fully agree, We should enter as different teams, the Scottish are as usual being undermined and we should definitely start to campaign for a representative team, trying to force England and Scotland together will push us further apart!

Let's face it - unless the team is picked by the PC brigade, no Scots players will get in. So don't worry about it!

Don't you think it will be a blessing in disguise that there maybe no Scottish or Welsh footballers in a "United" football team?
Let's face it, both nations are as shi*e as each other at football.

I think scotland should refuse to participate as it would allow more English players who can actually win medals on the U.K. team.
