What was your first question?
Some people I know had a rabbit and It ended up with staph because it neck was always wet when it drank water from the dish. Anyway, all of the people in the household also got a staph infection.
Staph is very contagious and if you got it from touching a dog, make sure that the dog goes to the vet to get treated. Otherwise you can keep passing the infection back and forth.
