It is constipating. You might want to take a stool softener and lots of fiber rich food and a fiber supplement if your doc says it is okay. Drink lots of water. Careful with dairy products, especially if you are lactose sensitive.

Codeine is known to cause constipation which would lead to bloatyness. May help to take a mild laxative, drink plenty of fluids, and eat lots of fiber whilst taking codeine.

Absolutely YES, if you are prescribed codeine legally the doctor will also give you a stool softener so you have a good colon blow.

it makes you bloated in the sense that it is constipating .therefore if you can't evacuate your stool you Will feel bloated . a simple cure if you want to continue your codeine take a glycerin supp. it wont be addictive. supp. stands for suppository.

Haven't heard that as a side effect, but can cause, dryness of mouth, drowsiness, light-headed feeling and/or constipation.
