Ok things to think about when getting a dog from a breeder and not wanting to support a puppymiller.

does your breeder know all about shipping worldwide?
does your breeder claim to give their own shots and have the pup up to date but not give you VET reccords to prove it?
are they CKC registered or anything but AKC registered for a breed that would be normaly registered in AKC?
How many moms and dads do they claim to have?
How many litters a year to they have? (best way to find this out is to find out when the next litter will be available.. and you can guage how many they have a year)
Ask them what heart worm prevention they use on their parent dogs...and why.. some dont use any in puppy mills...
How are the mothers housed wile waiting to give birth?
How are the moms and dads housed during daily living?
At what age do you recomend the babies go to their new owners?
These are only a start of good questions to ask...
There are majior red flags to distinguish a miller from a good breeder... and in this day and age unfortunately it takes some practice...
Honestly a website breeder usualy is a miller... not always but usualy.... most small time good breeders already have a waiting list for their dogs and dont need the internet to sell their dogs.. if you are looking for a dog and you know the breed .. find someone with that dog.. and ask where they got theirs.. and ask if they are happy where they got theirs...
DO NOT BUY FROM A PET STORE.. THEY SUPPORT MILLERS!!!
Blessings,
and if you want to email me
feel free I will be glad to help anyone in finding a good dog from a good breeder instead of a miller.

Well what breed is it?

Try searching breed+name+iowa

Oh, well if he had a litter of crossbreeds he probably won't have a website for his kennel, LOL!
Try the phone book, you can look at it online as well.

RIAH - MOST show breeders have websites as well, some even advertise in the newspapers. How else are the pet buying public suppose to even find the 'good' breeders? You can see from the people on YA that most don't even think of going to a dog show.

have you tried looking him/her up on-line? You should also ask the source who gave you the breeders name they might have the address. Also if you Know where the breeder is located try and check that areas phone book for an ad. or name of the breeder so you can contact them.

Try the kennel club of Great Britain, that is if you want a pedigree dog.

The two major kennel clubs are American Kennel club, and Continental Kennel club. We belong to the latter as we raise Pekingese.
It would help to know what kind of dog,s, he raises, but if he is registered with either of these they can help.
