Apparently they ARE letting the one(s) that care do the job right.
(Its not just in the nursing home.)
If someone is bold enough to sit on their behind and let others do their work, then you'll just have to be bold enough to tell them what needs done, if thats up to them today to do, if they're not doing it.
At least on your shift you might get a reputation as someone who does their job and rightly wants others to do theirs. Who cares what the slackers think of you, I'd say.
But if you are referring to the previous shift-it is classic that the next shift comes in to find a lot of things undone by the previous shift.
Nursing home work is much too hard to let even one employee get by without doing their job.
You can tell the person or tell the person in charge. Nursing homes have to follow a lot of strict guidelines, more than ever in the past. They know this, and would probably appreciate knowing that this patient or that sat in pee all day, didnt get a shower or as a feeder (one to be fed) didnt get fed, or not all their food.
The state doesnt like this kind of thing and will close a neglectful home down.
You'll have to speak up somewhere.Good Luck.

I too worked in a nursing home as a housekeeper but let me tell you it's the same on that side. I actually had these old ladies who had been there forever tell me to slow down and knock it off Cuz I'm making them look bad. WHAT!!!! All I was doing was my job. It is unbelievable how bad people have gotten I was taught to go to work work as hard as you can and get as much done as you can. Don't do it sloppily either do your job efficiently. Then everybody benefits. But I see more and more peoplegetting lazier.

I agree but in my neighborhood it's worse than what you have to deal with.
At least your lazy bums are at a job. My neighbors all take government assistance as a license to sit on their duffs and be ultralazy.
