I agree with you too..there have been quite a number of accidents that arise due to the drivers using cell phones and not concentrating..thus resulting in an accident..

Now see, here is the difference between some people. Some people concentrate more when they have more on their mind so it's easier for them to focus on the road with a certain distractions, but yes. In most cases Cell phones do cause accidents. Another thing about cell phones though is that they also take up a hand to hold it, while BOTH hands should be on the wheel. Hands-free sets clear that up, but I personally haven't seen many people with them in their car...Espically teens.

All distractions are dangerous - even some conversations with others in the car when the driver looks away from the road.
Therefore, it is not just the use of the cell phone but holding it while speaking. Hands-free is a lot safer. All new cars should have cell phone jacks for hands-free use.

I think talking on a cell phone while your driving is a good way to get killed because you are to destracted from the person talking in the phone and you are really not paying attention to the road. If some thing happened and your talking on the phone you'll be to distracted to stop and then a car crash would happen. So thats why I would never talk on the phone while driving a car.

I agree with you........for some reason we feel we're at home when we're driving and we do things like talk on the phone....play with the radio....eat...correct our children....look around at the scenery, etc.
Driving is dangerous and we should put our safety and the safety of others ahead of our comfort.
I personally think all states should have cell-phone laws....you get a ticket & a fine if you're caught talking on the phone.

I think it is a bad idea and unsafe. Last week a 17 yr old girl was downloading songs on her phone when she hit a bike rider and killed him-a 22 yr. old honor student. A tragedy that could have been easily prevented by not playing with her phone.

On the same theory, people shouldn't be looking at the radio, eating, putting on makeup, or even just looking for things around their car. But they do it. People are just too dumb to realize they need to pay attention.
