"The Public Policy Institute of California asked likely voters in a recent survey which issue would they most like to hear the gubernatorial candidates talk about before the Nov. 7 election. Immigration, especially illegal immigration, was the top choice, surpassing education, jobs, the state budget and the environment. California has more immigrants than any other state in the nation. More than one-fourth of all Californians are foreign-born, and an estimated 2.4 million are illegal immigrants. At times dismissed as a federal concern, the immigration issue has manifested itself in California over and over, including the decision this year to deploy National Guard troops at the border and massive marches this spring protesting proposed border policies."

hexador - Arnie just vetoed the driver's license for illegals bill again, yesterday. However he has on his desk still a bill that would not only grant in state tuition but GOVERNMENT GRANTS to illegal immigrants, just so you know.

hayleylov - best of luck with your town council!

Personally, I think it is against federal law, and there is a lawsuit against the LA Special Order 40 which passed the demurrer stage. That means that if the people challanging the sanctuary order can prove everything they say, they will have shown a violation of federal preemption in passing the sanctuary order. If I were a town council, I'd be concerned about law suits.

Arnold what a joke maybe this is why in other countries they don't let foreigners hold any office, and i think they are on to something there ! and its a huge issue in every state one the people are demanding to be heard on

on my last question the city that wants to be a refuge for illegals this was said : It's been taking over our lives,” Morrison said. “I have received more calls on this issue than any other issue in the 14 years I've been on the council.

and in my town they have been holding meetings on this issue

It will be a big issue if they decide to discuss it. They voters passed Proposition 187 back in 1994 but it was ruled unconstitutional and dismissed. The Governor at the time, Pete Wilson received a lot of backlash for it though. This will probably make the current batch of elected officials a bit weary proposing a new one.

If a proposal is made that will not conflict with federal laws I am sure it will go up for a vote. I shouldn't really say confict with them since the Judge that ruled against it said it was the federal govenments problem and not the state.

It's very important but the politicians don't have the guts to discuss it, they really don't no what to do, they don't want to appear to harsh on the subject, because they want to get reelected, but in California we only have 2 choices Arnold or Angellines, so who do you vote for because neither one will discuss the matter, and it's that way around the country, but I will be voting for Arnold, because Dem's raise taxes as soon as they get in office, and if Dem's get control of the house we are finished they will open the flood gates at the border, and give amnesty to all the illegals. When the bill went through to make English our official language, it was the Dem's that voted it down, all most all voted no, and it didn't pass. I don't understand that kind of thinking.

#1 issue ever. I hate Bush because of how weak and conceding he is. I hate Democrats becuase of how stupid they are about immigration. The only people thinking of America right now is the House of representatives which just passed a measly 700 mile border fence bill. We oughtta give free hand to anyone who wishes to shoot trespassers without mercy. Our country has enough burdens itself. If no illegal immigrants were in this country we would jump straight into surplus and wouldn't have to complain about poor education or expenses on the war. (2 kids last year were killed by illegal immigrants at my school last year.)

Huckabee. McCain reported he might do those component to regulate unlawful extraterrestrial beings and that not something might take place till we controlled the border. it is obscure.. we don't understand what it skill quite. Huckabee reported he might deport the unlawful extraterrestrial beings. in actuality, i've got faith for this reason the President advised McCain earlier he had the nomination tied up. That endorsement became concept to place McCain over the hump. It did not.. i desire it would not.

Arnold is too busy groping women and trying to keep his zipper pulled up.

He doesn't give a hoot about real issues. He thinks he's busy "kicking girley men's b*tts." However I think he's more like kissing them.
