I like this girl and used to say hi to her whenever i saw her but ive run out of conversation starters! what do girls like? any ideas?

Well, with out actually knowing said girl myself, I'm not sure how much help I can be. But when I ever need something to talk about, all hail the power of the press.
The newspaper is full of things that trained professionals think the world cares about. ( I guess I should have said " media " since the Internet is good for that too, but you understand ) Now, if you have any idea what her interests are, try to find a related article in some semi-current production of a fairly reputable newspaper. Raise this article up in passing and see where it goes.
And from that, you can judge basically which direction future conversations can go

If you've chatted with her enough to have run out of conversation starters, (apparently she's not offering any) perhaps it's time to realize she's not into you and just go back to "hi" and a smile when you see her..

Ask her what she did today. That will always be different. And it shows tha tyou are interest. Ask her plans for the evening. i love film so if a guy started talking about an indie movie he just saw- that would work for me!
