I copied this from someone who provided me with this suggestion but I don't really get it:

"Hold 2 dumbbells in each hand just relaxed.. now hold them together @ front side of UR body (just in front of front thigh)now lift them both together, rotating UR wrists facing the fingers downwards...( try 2 avoid over bend of elbow) Dumbells R lifted till they R parallel 2 UR shoulders... hold it 4 1-2 secs n then back to relaxed position... This give U the whole Deltoid n partial shoulder work out..."

so will this work out the rounded part of the shoulders as well as the top part of my upper arm just below the slope of the shoulders?

As far as I can tell this looks like a front raise. Yes, this will work the rounded part of your shoulder, to to this site and look at their demos, I think you'll like it-www.bodyforlife.com it's a good one.
