I said I have the urge to VISIT a church, not convert over! Churches are cool a creepy looking, especially the old ones. They fascinate me. And the people in there are always hilariously stupid.

Na. Go ahead. It won't hurt you any. Church became much more interesting to me since I became Pagan. Last year my mom dragged me to church for her birthday and I sat rapt listening to the sermon (It was about the history and evolution of Christian prayer) and afterward I said, "That sermon was awesome. That was so cool what he said about the this and the that." and my Christian relations all said, "Huh? Oh, I wasn't listening. Is that what it was about?"

I like the architecture and stained glass found in some of the older churches. Sometimes I enjoy visiting the services given by other religions when I am invited. I don't think that's weird or a sign that I'm interested in converting to another religion. I find all old buildings and religions interesting.

Why not enjoy yourself? Find out which historic churches in your area have tours? It could make for a nice day trip. Perhaps you could also find some nice synagogues and mosques.

Nothing wrong at all with wanting to visit old Churches, the architecture alone is a wonderment. Also going back through history a LOT of churches were built on pagan holy grounds as a form of conversion. :)

I am also Pagan but I was raised catholic. I still l ike going to different catholic churches because I love the stained glass windows. I also drop in to different church socials acting as an "out of towner". People are different when they sit down at a dinner table. It's almost as if it's neutraql territory. I still find that the best potlucks are given by the Lutherans though ;)

Of course not!!! I love churches!!! The architecture and artwork often found in churches are absolutely amazing!!! Look at the Notre Dame Cathedral in France, or the Sistine Chapel in Italy! Or the Old North Church in Boston.Absolutely stunning examples of art!!!I'm partial to the stained glass windows.(Oh yeah, btw, I'm Wiccan, and have been that way for 15 years,)

Only if I am weird because I happen to be Pagan and like a few Christian rock bands.
It's not the message, it's the art!

I have the same urge sometimes, then I go, and remember why I left in the first place. So, no it's not weird.

:)

Perfectly normal. It's nostaligia for me, reminds me of being a teeny kid, running around having fun, and feeling safe.

No, that is NOT wierd. You are actually on a spiritual path seeking what is right and wrong. This is GOOD. What you need to do is visit all different types of churches, and then visit the holy places of other religions as well. Visit a Jewish Temple. Sit in on a Native American spiritual ceremony. There is much for you to learn. Read all of their holy texts and books. Do not blind yourself to any particular religion. Embrace them all.

Along the way, you may begin to see the signs that will begin to lead you to the absolute truth of things. The Christian Bible is also and excellent source of materials - BUT you must READ it and not listen to what the evangelists say, nor what the priests say - you must interpret it with your own eyes, heart and mind. When read properly and UNDERSTOOD you will see that what many so-called "Christians" practice is actually the exact opposite of what is written - and instructions for seeking out the truth of everything is also written in there.

I will give you a hint to finding out what is TRUTH in the holy texts...

There are words written by man to explain what they heard that is holy...

There are words written by man to control man....

There are words written by god that man has copied, but man is not perfect...

There are words written by god that remain unchanged...

Gods words exemplify the rule of treating everyone kindly - any words that do not follow this are not of god, but are of man...

There you have it - the secrets to the universe laid out before you - good luck!
