You know that is weird, I have encountered this phenomenon as well. My mother and I got a cat when I was in middle school and now I am past college and in the Air Force. When I go home to visit he still remembers me no matter how long I have been gone. It is strange... he will sit in my lap all day if I let him, but he never sits with my mother. So I think that for the most part, the pet picks its person. For example you get a pet for yourself, and she ends up hanging out with your wife and being more affectionate to her... It's weird...

Does your son pay the most attention to his cat, and does he feed it? Does your daughter pay the most attention to her cat and feed it? If so, that's probably why. If that's not the case, maybe they just love your kids:) Be thankful, some cats don't hang around kids too much:)

Our cats tend to gravate to however feeds them last. Spot our male cat is my husbands cat, while Chance, the famale is mine. Spot will usually stick around with hubby, as they play more together, and Chance sticks around me probably because I'm the one that gives her the extra treats lol.
