I'm sorry your girlfriend cheated on you. Not all girls cheat that would be like asking are all guys dogs?! I on the other hand had the exact opposite happen to me. Once my boyfriend got to Iraq he decided he didn't need me anymore. I would have wait on him even if he was over there for years instead of just 6-8 months. Girls suck sometimes and so do boys. It's human. Don't stress yourself out over there. You have more important things to be thinking about. Thank you for all you are doing over there.

that absolutely sucks and I wish I could smack her with a fish for you. As it is, though, you're actually better off. I know it sucks. No matter what people tell you, you aren't going to feel better about it, but you're a soldier and that means you need a soldier's woman. That type of woman is unique but not impossible to find. Did you ever see the movie "Swing Shift" with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell? gives a look at the situation from both sides.
Just know that you are over there doing for others, your agenda is clearly not you first; unlike your former girlfriend and the man she took up with. In the long run, you will find someone worthy of you; someone who will ride out the pain of waiting for you to come home because when you are there her happiness will outweigh the grief.

It depends on the girl. Some will some wont. It depends on how much love she had for you, and so much of it depends on what kind of person she is. She sounds like a real jerk. Im sorry youre going thru this. She obviously didnt deserve you, and she was no good for you. You need someone you can trust, and you couldnt trust her. You can do better. Wow, what a selfish *****. Any who, my friend is from Afghanistan and she told me the clothes are really cheap there! (I recommend going to the good parts of Afghanistan and you can get loaded!)

You must remember that every country has their "dangerous" parts! It doesn't make that country a horrible place to live in though.
