I don't know how to ask this, but Adam had everything he needed and Eve had a womb and so it looks like, maybe, it was suppose to have happened.

That was never God's purpose. They were made to reproduce. And boy did they.

I cannot believe some of the answers to this question. Man was Created on the Sixth Day, God rested on the Seventh and THEN He created Adam & Eve. Genesis 1: 26 and Genesis 2: 7 through 25. I cannot help but say it no matter what happens.
Please know what you are talking about BEFORE you answer a question. It is in the bible if you believe the Bible in the FIRST BOOK of the BIBLE.
I cannot make it any clearer. Ignorance breeds ignorance. You are NOT helping somone with FALSE information. I am not calling any names, just read the answer for yourself, and you will see. Hope this helps someone.

You made a huge assumption. Where did you get the idea that Adam and Eve were 'supposed' to be the only humans? God has 1/3 of heaven to fill!

People need to look at the Biblical stories and see the meaning behind them, everyone is always going on about Adam and Eve having kids and then having an incestuous relationship to produce more kids.
You have to look at the moral behind the story, that is the point of the story. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil and what effects partaking of that fruit might have.
Jesus himself used parables to illustrate moral points, as was the norm in those times. Understand that, and you do not need to think of incestuous relationships between Adam and Eve and their descendants.

Where did you get that bizare notion that they werent supposed to have children when the Bible plainly states at Genesis 1;28 "Further God blessed them and said to them be fruitfull and become many and fill the earth and subdue it and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth". those are his direct words to Adam . and eventually to Eve who was created later in the 6th day hope this helps Gorbalizer

They were supposed to reproduce. They were tasked with populating the whole world.

All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers.

What do you think orignial sin is? Do the sexual symbols in the story not spell it out for you? A tree 'of knowledge', a snake, a 'forbid' fruit, need I go on?
