Perhaps you have failed to explain and convince your parents the need of a cellphone.
* Explain to your parents as to why do you want it.
* Explain the reasons convincingly as to why and where you may require to contact home whenever you are out.
* Explain to them that there are pros and cons of every thing and you are not going to misuse it.There are more benefits than harms in having a phone.
* Express your opinion convincingly that while all your friends are having it, you feel like 'odd man out '
* Tell them as to how you feel when you have to ask for a call over your friends phone.
* Show your TEARS. It works ...
Try it ....
Good Luck....

Well, I just got my son a cellphone. And while i was against the idea for a long time, I finally agreed because its important to stay in contact. Children stay out of the house for longer periods as they grow older. There's tuitions, extra curricular classes, club meetings at school, etc. And they make their way back home by public transport. In a big city like Mumbai, travel by public transport is pretty daunting. After the recent train blasts in July, even more so. I agreed to the cell phone for my own peace of mind. So, if you want a phone, first see if you really need one. Getting a phone because your friends all carry one and its a status symbol is really not a good enough reason. I am sure your parents will get you one if they see a need for it. Otherwise, just learn to respect their wishes. Or, save up and buy yourself one later.

Well, you can't make your parents to buy you a cell phone. They have lots of things to care of.But if you really need a cell phone(ex:in case of emergency)-I have some ideas:
1/Be good to your parents( get good grade, obey the rules....)
2/Save some money (ask your parents to help a little bit if needed)
3/Buy T-mobile To Go (Pre-paid).T-Mobile have the best "to-go" now.If you already have a used T-mobile phone(or go get a used-good one),buy a Sim card (I know some places they sell sim card only $10 to $15 bucks for the first 150 minutes. There's you go,you now have a cell phone with your own tel. number.I did the same. All it costs me less than $30.Remember: as soon as your refill minutes up to $100-your minutes will cost only 10 cents/min. and it last for ONE YEAR. Buy T-mobile to go,don't buy the regular plan. That way you can control your spending and it saves money too.I think your parents will be happy and accept it.

Well, let's see. You could start earning money for it by babysitting, mowing lawns, washing cars, etc. You could show your parents you are responsible by getting good grades, doing your homework, and offering to help with chores around the house without being asked. Perhaps if you show them you are trying to earn the money yourself and are responsible, they may be more persuaded to buy you one.
You can't "make" them buy you anything. They're responsible for buying you clothes, food, housing, health care, school supplies, etc, but nobody can make your parents buy you a cellphone. Show them you want to earn it and are responsible and maybe they will have a change of heart. A demand from someone who feels like they are entitled to a cellphone won't cut it.

Do all the housework they ask you to do.
Obey all their rules.
either that or
do like they said save up a little money every week and soon you will have enough for your cell phone, wont take long at all. and maybe you could get them to go 1/2 and 1/2 with you on it by asking them every dollar you put up will they put one up so you can get a hold of them if you really need to.

Well.. you can't make your parents buy you anything. Let them know that they will be able to get ahold of you at all times if they get you one. That was a selling point for my mom back in the day. If you are old enough to drive, tell them you don't feel safe driving without a phone on yu. Because I'm 24 and I won't get in my car without my phone. Goodluck! Tell them you will do extra chores to pay for it.

If you are responsable enough to own a cell phone, then you are responsable enough to get a job to pay for it. Earn it yourself. A cell phone is NOT a necessity.
