Depending upon the charge, he might be released in a few hours, or he could be kept in a youth detention facility until a detention hearing is held on Monday. At the detention hearing, it might be decided to keep him in detention or on Electronic Monitoring until the Initial Hearing on the charges, which might be a month or so in the future.

You'll be expected to pay the costs of his detention or his Electronic Monitoring. Around here, it's $100 a day for detention, and $8 a day (with $100 set-up fee) for Electronic Monitoring.

Contact an attorney and inform your son NOT to waive rights. You should be there, as he is a minor. DONT let him talk to the cops. Determine what the charges are. Booking can take some time and depending upon the charges he may be held until bailed out. Disconnect from the computer NOW, call an attorney NOW, and then get over to where he is being held. NOW.

Police can put a minor in a youth detetion center until he is either 17 or 18 then have him transfered to the county jail ( depending on the crime commited ).You should be able to call and find out more information if you call the place he is being held at.

In my OPINION, you became a bad Mother as soon as you took the time to ask all of us when he could get out. You don't even know what he did. I am just curious, if your home was on fire would you log on here and ask what the hell to do? I didn't think so. I hope your son learns from being in jail. He apparently is not going to learn anything from you. The world is getting crazier & crazier every day. People like you amaze me, I am almost in shock.

Let him sit his behind in jail. Maybe he'll think twice before committing a crime next time.

And if you're justifying his behavior "i.e. the boys will be boys quote" you are a bad mother and you're son will continue to get arrested. Discipline your kid, so law enforcement doesn't have to!

Well, it depends what the offense is for. Call the police and find out what the charges are and how much the bail is. If he was caught drinking - depending on how drunk he was - they'll keep him until they feel he is sober enough to go home. Good luck - hope he is okay.

1. It depends upon the charge.
2. Have the police offered 'police bail'?
3. The usual maximum is 24hrs but that can be extended by court order.

I believe until arraignment or 48-72 hours depending on the charge and what extentions the DA or police ask for. The maximum is 72.

your son gets arrested and all you have to say is "boys will be boys"? Have you perhaps given any consideration to logging off this stupid computer and going to where they have your son and seeing what's up? Then you need to wake the hell up and look at your son in a more realistic view. If you think this is normal, then I do question your parenting skills.

It all depends on the reason he is in there. Usually once the judge sees him, they release himto the parent if it is the first offense if it is not a really serios crime.
