The translation varies from country to country, and from generation to generation. The term my parents used when they were young is not the same as the term my generation uses. However, instead of using the slang word for hottie of a particualr country you can choose to use the formal Spanish word for a beautiful woman. The adjectives: bello (male), bella (female), hermoso (male), hermosa (female) are the equivalents of beautiful. A beautiful woman in spanish is: "Una mujer bella" or "Una mujer hermosa". The same with a man; however, calling a man "bello" or "hermoso" sounds a bit Elton John. The word for handsome is "apuesto" (used to describe a man) and "guapa" (used to describe a woman). "Guapo" is the same word as "guapa" but it is male "Guapo" and "apuesto" are synonimes. "Él es un hombre apuesto" means literally "He is a handsome man". The word for pretty is "bonito" (male) and "bonita" (female). To call a man "bonito", again, is a little Elton John, unless, of course you are a woman, and by the way, among high class families, at least in the country where I live, people never talk like that. If you were a man talking about another man you would call the other man "apuesto" (handsome). If you are not satisified with my answer thus far, from what I've seen on TV, I hear Mexicans call their "hotties": "mamasita" (to describe a woman) and "papacito" (to describe a man). I am from South America and I ocassionally hear people call "mamasita" or "papasito" to their other half. Those terms have been imported from other countries. The only one I know of is Mexico but I am confident many Central American and Caribbean countries use the same terms.

In Spanish, you have to feel it first, then the appropriate words will come to your mind. Most likely, your "hottie" will be a: papasito,/ que bueno esta, /que hombre!!!,

guapo (boy)/ guapa (girl)
or more slangy: chulo (boy)/ chula (girl)...a least in Mexico.
Every Spanish speaking country (sometimes even within different parts of the countries) may have different slangs.

"Mami chula", of course! That's what Latin American men call beautiful women, ESPECIALLY Dominicans and Puerto Ricans!
