I go to the salon (usually Cost Cutters cuz its the closest thing to a "salon" this town has) to have my eyebrows done. I will NOT mess with any home waxing kits; I just know I'll screw something up.
Any other facial hair... well, being a chick, I don't really have to worry about it until I hit 40 or so and start getting a mustache (thank you German genetics). Then I'll prolly go to the salon for that too.
The home DIY kits are just too scary for me, but you can try them if you want. Most of the ones I've seen on TV seem simple, just not my thing. They can usually be found in the Health and Beauty section of your local WalMart. Any type of waxing hurts because you are ripping the hair clean outta your skin. If you're serious about trying it, I suggest going to a salon and having them do it for your first time. That way you know if you can deal with the pain and see if its something you think you can do for yourself. Ask the person doing the waxing if it's hard to learn and if they have tips or suggestions for which DIY kits to use or how is the best way to do it.
Cost Cutters eyebrow waxing is about $8-10. Facial is usually $10-15.

I know quite a few women who have their faces waxed and I've tried on occasion but my skin is too sensitive to do it on a regular basis.
The guys I know who have their facial hair removed instead of shaving all go for 'Threading' it's the same idea as waxing, it removes the hair from the root, but it is literally a way of using thread like tweezers. Apparently it stings a bit at first then you get used to it and they say they never feel as fresh after a shave.
If you choose this option then go to a good barber shop. They should offer it. If not try an Arab or Jamaican barber shop as they also use this system a lot.
If you choose to wax make sure you go to a professional though as if they do it wrong it can be very painful and leave a nasty rash and occasionally bruising.

Yes . Get a professional to do it .. I have waxed ,many a faces and the results were great . As long as they try a sample strip first , to make sure you aren't exceptionally sensitive .... Do the test strip at least 24 hours before the appointment and then if you aren't sensitive you can continue on . The results are amazing when done by an excellent cosmetician like ME !!!!!

It is done all the time; by women who have facial peach fuzz. It hurts the first time, but after that, not really. Yes, you should have it professionally done. Nail salons do it, facialists, etc.
I wonder: why haven't more men done it. Maybe their beards are too course ? Try it!! The hair doesn't really start to grow back for about 1 1/2 weeks, so it would be nice....
If it is done properly, it WON'T leave your skin red and irritated. There is definitely a right way, and a wrong way.

Hot wax put on your face, then it gets pulled off very quick. good results, feels nice when wax goes on. Get it done though at a proper salon

Only if you are a girl and have just a little fuzz. The hair on male's face is way too coarse.

I've always wondered why men don't use depilatory cream on their faces. I certainly wouldn't wax. Not unless you're King Kong.
